A Whole New Perspective Tag

Hello again! I'm back with this colorful tag, made with stencils and Dylusions Paints.

It started with strips of notebook paper, washi tape, and drywall tape, that was used a mask with a coat of white gesso. Then I used a brayer and my fingers to apply some of the latest and brightest Dylusions Paints. I hope you can see the grid texture in the background, made with the drywall tape.

To create an abstract cityscape, I applied (Black Marble) Dylusions Paint to the Distressed Patterns Stencil from Creative Embellishments to make the small squares. Then I applied black Impasto Paint to the Dragonfly Screen Print Stencil from TCW.

I also applied black Impasto Paint to the Tim Holtz (Plaid) Stencil, and cut 3 squares from them to resemble buildings. Then I finished it up by stamping the quote onto painted strips of white cardstock.

Thanks for looking, and hope you're all staying safe and well!

Halloween ATC's

My love for Halloween and bright colors finally kick started my mojo with this set of ATC's!

They were made from playing cards that started with a coat of white gesso. Then I applied some of the newer and brighter Dylusions Paints, added some script stamping, and embossed the trees, house, and bats with Emerald Creek (Onyx Frost) Embossing Powder.

The bats and label are from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, pre -Coronavirus, when they would include a little goodie bag with your purchase. I have lots set aside for future ATC's or tags. Lol!

The chipboard pumpkin is from Creative Embellishments, and was also painted with Dylusions Paints after a coat of white gesso.

Thanks for looking, and take care!

Sea Artist Trading Coins

Hello and hope you're doing well! I've been playing with my newest and brightest Dylusions Paints on this set of Sea Artist Trading Coins from Creative Embellishments

The background 2 1/2" circles were covered with white gesso, and before drying, embedded with wavy threads. Then I applied white gesso to the Creative Embellishments Seaweed Stencil, and painted the water with Dylusions (Blue Lagoon and Blue Hawaiian) Paints. To bring out the wavy threads, and the rest of the texture, I lightly went over it with white gesso.

After painting over the stenciling, I cut rings from cheesecloth, and adhered them to the backgrounds with Prima 3D Matte Gel.

I also painted the scalloped circles that were die cut from white cardstock.

The Sea Artist Trading Coins were covered with white gesso, and painted with Dylusions Paints.  Then I used Prima 3D Matte Gel to adhere them to the backgrounds, and to mimic sand with Finnabair Mini Art Stones.

So fun to make! Thanks for looking!

Color OUTSIDE the Lines ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! Hoping to bring cheer and happiness to you all with my new art journal spread, featuring stamps from Red Rubber Designs and some of the new Dylusions Paints

I started by randomly stamping the larger checkers with the Designer Diamonds Unmounted Rubber Stamp using (Jet Black) Archival Ink, and the smaller ones with the Background Blocks Stamp.  Then I stamped the text with the Well Defined Backgrounds Stamp onto torn strips of white tissue paper, adhered with clear gesso.

The first layer of painting was done by spritzing my pages with water before adding paint, which created more of a wash instead of the drips I was visualizing. So I tried it again but with more water added to my paints and none to my pages, which helped the drips to fall. Because I wanted to use the colors of the rainbow, and the new Dylusions Paints are so bright and vivid, I started on the left with Pink Flamingo, followed by Tropical Sangria, Mango Punch, Lemon Drop, Sour Appletini, Blue Hawaiian, Blue Lagoon, and added the original (Crushed Grape) to the end since the new set doesn't include purple. I also splattered each color along the bottom.

"Color" was masked with an old Tim Holtz Alpha Mask using a Mini Blending Tool with (Black Marble) Dylusions Paint. Then I purposely drew outside of the lines with the (White Linen) Dylusions Paint Pen, doing the same thing with the drips but with the (Black Marble) Paint Pen.

The rest of the titlework was stamped with the Distressed Typewriter Bet Stamp (no longer available) using (Jet Black) Archival Ink, with highlights done with the (White Linen) Dylusions Paint Pen.

Thanks for looking, and whatever your situation, try to stay positive!

The Great Indoors

I've never had such a serious need to paint like I have in the last couple of weeks. Color is my happy place, and I hope you all can find yours, and stay safe and healthy! This art journal spread has helped calm me, made with Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Paints and Stamps.

I just love the mushroom houses, stamped with the Dylusions (Down in the Woods) Stamp!

I've also used the Dylusions (Glorious Blooms) Stamp, and Ranger Archival (Jet Black) Ink for all of the stamping, with the exception of the sun. The upside down flowers represent the Coronavirus.

The sun was done with an older stamp block, and I just extended the rays with Dylusions (Lemon Zest) paint.

I had to go through some old alpha stickers to come up with, what I think is the perfect title, and so fitting right now.

The specific Dylusions Paints I used throughout this spread are (Black Marble, Slate Grey, Postbox Red, Bubble Gum Pink, Peony Blush, Tangerine Dream, Squeezed Orange, and Lemon Zest).

I also used Dylusions Paint Pens (Black Marble and White Linen) to make the stems on the flowers, and for the white blades of grass.

Thanks for looking, and sending out positive and healing vibes to you all!

Aquamarine Birthday Card

Aquamarine is the official birthstone for March, and the inspiration for this card, made for my Dad, and the Aquamarine Challenge at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog!

The top layer was smooshed with Dylusion's Paints (Vibrant Turquoise, Calypso Teal, and White Linen) onto white cardstock. The bottom was done with the same colors, but with (Black Marble) instead of (White Linen) to create depth.

A Stamperia Stencil was used to create the chains with black gesso through it, also applied to the edges and Tim Holtz metal cogs/gears. Then it all got covered with Prima (Red) Rust Paste.

I also used the Rust Paste on a recycled piece of black fruit netting, which looks so cool!

The embossed cogs/gears were stamped with the Tick Tock Stamp from the Artistic Stamper onto black cardstock, and embossed with Emerald Creek (Chunky Rust) Baked Texture. At the last minute I remembered that I had these aquamarine jewels, which made all the difference.

Finally, I embossed the sentiment with Emerald Creek Boho Blends (Wrought Iron) Embossing Powder.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

Purple Hearts and Flowers

Purple hearts and flowers adorn my latest art journal page, made with Dylusions Paints and embossed stamping!

I love an ombre effect, and mixed (White Linen) and (Laidback Lilac) Dylusions Paints at the bottom, blended into (Laidback Lilac), blended into a mix of (Laidback Lilac) with (Crushed Grape), and finished with (Crushed Grape) on top! Then I used the same colors with some stencils for the diamonds, circles, and alphas.

Dylusions Paints were also used to paint the flowers that were embossed with Emerald Creek Rock Candy (Marshmallow) Embossing Powder.

Emerald Creek Rock Candy (Java Plum) Embossing Powder was embossed onto white cardstock on the bottom heart.

Then I embossed (Java Plum) again, but stamped first with purple inks for the LOVE and HUGS hearts.

The XOXO heart was embossed with Ranger Mixed Media Powder (Lilac), and decorative scissors around each one created the scallops. Along the right I added some flowers from a magazine.

Thanks for looking, and wishing you an early Happy Valentine's!

Spring Art Journal ~ FotoBella DT

Today we welcome the first day of Spring, in all of it's splendor, with the flowers, birds, and colors, inspiring hope and new beginnings! So I'm starting off the season with an art journal page using my Dylusion's Paints and other mixed media from FotoBella.com

The colors, flowers, bird, and arch were inspired by the beautiful Art and Soul Studio March Moodboard

To the background, I glued down three craft feathers, and covered them with Prima Marketing Gesso (White). After drying, I used a paint brush to apply Dylusion's Paints (Vibrant Turquoise, Calypso Teal, Rose Quartz, Bubblegum Pink, Fresh Lime, Postbox Red, After Midnight, Crushed Grape, and Laidback Lilac). Then I applied the same gesso to the Stamperia Alchemy Moon Stencil, omitting the moon and stars, and turning it upside down to frame my page. I later embossed over it with Ranger Mixed Media Powder (Bone). The leaves trailing down, were done with the Stamperia Lemons Stencil by applying gesso, and embossing with Ranger Mixed Media Powder (Lime). To add shadows, I outlined it with Dylusion's Paint (Black Marble), also used with a Mini Blending Tool on top, to create the borders using an old Tim Holtz mask.

I also used the Mini Blending Tool with Dylusion's Paints (White Linen) to create a ray of light onto the bird, followed by Prima Marketing Finnabair Unicorn Paste, which has beautiful chunks of glitter. The flowers were embossed with the Bo Bunny Floral Stamp, Prima Marketing Garden Fable Stamp, and the Stamperia Poppies Stamp, colored with the same paints, with beads added to some of the centers.

All of the black embossing was done with Emerald Creek (Black Cherry) EP, with some of the new Prima Marketing Finnabair Stamps (Clear Stamp #4 and #5) used on the background.

I love the poppies, colored with the same paints from the background!

But the star of this page is the bird, cut with the Cricut Expression (Home Decor cartridge) onto white cardstock. Then I added a feather to the top layer wing, covered it with gesso, and colored it with Distress Spray Stains (Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet). The rest of the bird was colored with Dylusion's Paints, with Unicorn Paste added to the bottom layer.

Thanks for looking, and shop FotoBella.com to see what Spring inspires you to create!
