Birthday Cards for my nephews

Happy Birthday to my oldest nephew Alex who turned 12 today! His brother turned 10 last week, so happy belated Birthday to you too Roan! I miss you boys soooo much!! I made both of their cards using My Mind's Eye (handsome) collection. Here's the first one that I made for Roan.

It was based off of this sketch used for the October Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I took advantage of the numbers paper and used it again for Alex's card, using the 12 this time. Both of the pinwheels were already made, making both of these cards quick and easy to do.

The sketches helped too. Here's the 2nd one that I used for Alex's card.

Thanks for looking! Be sure to check back tomorrow for a fun Halloween tutorial. Have a great weekend!

Celebrate America

Happy July 1st! Independence day is just a fews days away, so I decided to get scrapping on last years photos. I used the new "Anthem" collection by Bo Bunny for these photos of me and my son waiting for the fireworks to start.

I used this sketch from last month's Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge for the 2nd time. You can see my other take on it using the "Key Lime" collection on my last post.

I love the way the burlap looks with this line, and added it to these flowers that I made! I hand stitched the stars which is the twist this month for the Sewing Challenge that I host at Scrapbook com.

Come check it out!

BOAF April Kit Reveal

Here's a couple more LO's from me using the BOAF April Kit. For the first one, I used My Mind's Eye "Collectable Collection" and the brown cardstock that came in the extras.
This was based off of the April Sketch Challenge here.
The banner was made using Cosmo Cricket "honky tonk" chipboard banner alphas and the rope that came in the kit. The buttons were from my own stash.
I stamped the title and did a lot of machine stitching. I made the pinwheels using this tutorial. I just distressed the edges first.

For my next LO I found the PERFECT photo of my nephew Neo to go with  Echo Park's "All about a boy" Collection. I started by cutting apart and distressing the star pattern on the Superhero paper that comes with the extra patterned paper. To get the blue background I sprayed Chalkboard Glimmer Mist "Cornflower" onto the blue cardstock, which both came in the extras. Then I did some machine stitching using different colors of thread.
I used the extra stickers to make the banner. It originally read TOUGH, so I kept the U and T and just used circles to cover up the other letters, making new ones with my Cricut.
I painted the circle wood veneers that come in the kit white, and stamped and embossed all the white flourishes to mimic the splash in the photo.

This was a really fun page to work on! Thanks so much for looking!
