Adore Apples Tag

Hi everyone! I hope you're taking care and enjoying the rest of the weekend! I had fun making this mixed media tag with lots of stamping!

A mix of Finnabair Stamps created the background starting with (Checkered Texts) used with Ranger Archival (Jet Black) Ink. Then I collaged some washi tape and torn pieces of white tissue paper, stamped with (Gothic Book) and an older Prima script stamp with Prima Soft Matte Gel. I went over it all with some white gesso and (White Linen) Dylusions Paint. Once it dried, I stamped the small butterflies with the Rust & Dust Stamp.

The heart was a leftover diecut that I had in my stash and got covered with Prima Heavy Black Gesso. Then I embossed it with Emerald Creek (Onyx Frost) Embossing Powder.

The chipboard Steampunk Key from Creative Embellishments was also covered with Prima Heavy Black Gesso, and rubbed with Finnabair Metallique Waxes (Brushed Iron and Old Silver).

The flowers, leaves, and "Apples" are part of the apple stamp, and were all embossed with Emerald Creek (Onyx Frost) Embossing Powder. Then I painted the apples with watercolors.

Finally, I used some alpha stickers from the Bo Bunny (Love & Lace) Collection to spell "Adore".

2020 Christmas Tree Card

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Unfortunately I wasn't able to get as many Christmas cards done this year as I would've liked, but did manage to duplicate this one a few times.

The background started with some Lindy's Gang Sprays and Magicals to create a light golden shimmer, which is hard to see in the photos. Then I used a stamp with Distress Inks (Aged Mahogany and Barn Door), and spritzed it with water before stamping for a more vintage look.

To make the tree, I applied a heavy layer of white gesso to the Tree's Stencil from Creative Embellishments, using a palette knife to create texture. Once dry, I reapplied the stencil and used a stencil brush with Art Alchemy Metallique Paints (Green Olive and Dark Forest). Then I highlighted all of that texture with Finnabair Wax (Vintage Gold), along with the card edges.

Red and gold sequins made the perfect ornaments, and the star was embossed onto black cardstock with Ranger (Gold Tinsel) Embossing Powder.

The same embossing powder was also used for the sentiment, stamped onto red cardstock, and backed with a strip of ribbon.

Thanks for looking, and have a Happy New Year!

Summertime Blues

Who says there ain't no cure for the Summertime Blues? For me it's the beach or lake, painting/creating, and music, which inspired this art journal page.

I also took inspiration from the July 2020 Time Mood Board at Art Daily Cafe.

I started by adhering torn strips of old sheet music onto my page, and randomly adding Prima white gesso. Then I embossed some script and clock stamps with Ranger (Clear) Embossing Powder.

If you're familiar with my work, you probably know how much I love an ombre effect, and painted one here with Lindy's Gang Sprays starting on the bottom with (Tiffany Lou Blue, Ocean Breeze Blue, and Delphinium Turquoise).

The paintbrushes were stamped with the Prima (The Archivist Collection) Stamp Set, using Ranger (Jet Black) Archival Ink, embossed with Emerald Creek (Chunky Rust) Baked Texture onto white tissue paper. After tearing around the edges, I adhered it with Prima 3D Matte Gel.

I love the rusty effect I got with the paintbrushes, and did it again, minus the tissue paper, to the Creative Embellishments Steampunk Clock Stamp, and the gears and cogs using the Artistic Stamper (Tick Tock) Stamp! The clock hands are from another older stamp embossed with Emerald Creek (Mirror Platinum) Embossing Powder.

The tiles were embossed with Ranger (Blue Glass) Embossing Powder onto white cardstock.

Ranger (Blue Glass) Embossing Powder was also used on the Prima Stitched Circles Stamp. To resemble bubbles, I painted them with Art Alchemy Metallique (White Pearl) Paint, and added splatters onto the background.

More stamping and embossing was done for the titlework, again, using Ranger's (Blue Glass) and Emerald Creek's (Mirror Platinum) Embossing Powders.

The wood strips mimic a window, looking out to the sea, and were made from a recycled cracker box, covered with Prima white gesso. Once dry, I applied the same gesso to the Tim Holtz (Woodgrain) Stencil, and painted it with Art Alchemy Metallique (Royal Blue and Midnight Sky) Paints. Then I added more texture with Prima Patina Effect (Blue) Paste and Rust Effect (Red) Paste.  The brads were embossed with Emerald Creek (Mirror Platinum) and also got touches of (Red) Rust Paste.

Thanks for dropping by, and stay safe!

More ATC Coins

Hello, and hoping good health and spirits wherever you are! Today I have a quick and simple set of ATC Coins to share with you, made for the March Mini Challenge at More Than Words to include the word "More".

I started by cutting 2 1/2" circles from heavy kraft board, and covering them with white gesso. Then I colored them with Lindy's Gang Magicals and Squirts.

Using permanent brown ink, I stamped all of the gears and cogs with the Tick Tock Stamp from The Artistic StamperThe rest of the stamping was done with Ranger (Jet Black) Archival Ink.

It's hard to tell in the photos, but each coin was finished with a coat of Emerald Creek (Vintage Beeswax) Baked Texture Embossing Powder, giving it some shine.

     Thanks for looking!

Thank You Shaker Card

Starting off the year with a thankful heart, expressed in this shaker card, which was actually my first project of 2020, even though I'm just now posting it!

I was inspired by the January 2020 Challenge at Lindy's Gang with this beautiful combo.

The background was smooshed with Lindy's Gang Sprays (Brushed Nickel and Black Orchid Silver) and Magical Shakers
(Bavarian Blue and Stormy Silver). Then I gave it some splatters with LG (Sidewalk Chalk) Spray, before embossing the snowflakes and falling snow with LG (Purely White) Embossing Powder.

The wreath was embossed with LG (Midnight Pewter) Embossing Powder, and colored with LG (Frosty Forest Green) Spray. Once dry, it also got splatters with LG (Sidewalk Chalk) Spray.

It's kinda hard to see in the photos, but I also embossed the snowflakes and falling snow with LG (Purely White) Embossing Powder onto the white cardstock of the shaker for some texture. The sentiment was done with LG (Cuckoo Clock Cardinal) Embossing Powder. Since I ran out of clear acetate for the shaker, I used the lid from my salad, and filled it with glitter.

     Thanks for looking!

3rd Birthday Card

Happy weekend! My nephew just celebrated his 3rd birthday, so I whipped up this card for him at the last minute. Lol!

I used the Stamperia Clock and Mechanisms Stencil to create the gears using Prima Marketing Black Gesso. Then I heat embossed Emerald Creek (Hammered Metal) Embossing Powder on top.

The 3 was also done with Black Gesso using the Tim Holtz (Numbered) Stencil, and heat embossed with Tim Holtz Mixed Media Powder (Scarlet). For the sentiment, I used Emerald Creek (Black Cherry) Embossing Powder.

I finished it up with some (Black Soot) Distress Ink, and the tractor Jollie's Sticker that's been in my stash forever. Thanks for looking!

Floral Collage ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy weekend! I'm back with an art journal spread featuring some Floral Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs

The background was colored with Lindy's Magicals (Rowdy Rizzo Red, Greased Lightnin' Green, and Yodeling Yellow). Then I applied black gesso to a floral Prima stencil, shown on the left, to reveal the colors.

The main image and some of the plants were recycled from a magazine. I also recycled some fruit netting underneath the main image, where I randomly applied some Prima Olive Green Rust Effect Paste. The paste was also used along the torn edges of the black cardstock, and finished with a coat of Emerald Creek (Apple Martini) Embossing Powder, for a cool mossy effect.

All of the stamping was done with Archival Ink (Jet Black), embossed with Emerald Creek (Black Onyx) Embossing Powder, and colored with the same Magicals as the background. The big yellow flowers were made with the Charcoal Flowers Stamp.

To create a bush, I cut off the vase from the Spring Bouquet Stamp. Then I added the red flowers, embossed with the Floral Collage Stamp.

          Thanks for looking!
