Market Street ~ Ashbury Heights 2 Pager ~ FotoBella DT

I love the beautiful, new collection, Market Street ~ Ashbury Heights, by My Mind's Eye, from FotoBella! Even though I've probably never used black in an Easter layout before, I think it works well here with the papers. These photos were taken in 2013, in front of my parents' house.

This is my take on last month's 2 Page Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I started by punching the striped paper and lacing it up with black string. Then I hand-stitched the red and pink along the edges. The oval and banner tag under the bottom left photo, came from the Decorative Brads, which I also used on the right. I used a chipboard flower to go over the great quote that I got in the Mixed Bag.

I used the Decorative Tape along the bottom of the photos. The brad that I used on the right, is attached to Journal Card Packs, and the aqua one was stamped with a Prima stamp. The big pink flower was a leftover that I previously made, and is what inspired the other flowers that I made using my Easter Flower Tutorial and some mists.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog!

Market Street ~ Ashbury Heights Altered Tea Box Tutorial ~ FotoBella DT

Instead of throwing out my Celestial Tea box, I decided to alter it with the new, beautiful, I want it all bundle by My Mind's Eye, Market Street ~Ashbury Heights, from FotoBella.  The best part is that it smells great too, like cinnamon spice!

     Supplies:

Other Supplies and Tools:

Martha Stewart Scallop Punch
Glue
Ribbon
Gold Ink

Directions:

1. Measure your box and then, cut, and score fold lines accordingly. I used almost a whole sheet of the Garden's paper, and glued it all around the box, including the bottom.

2. Apply the gold decorative tape all around the box, about an inch and a quarter from the top.

3. Using the Martha Stewart punch, punch a strip about an inch wide from the striped paper, score your fold lines, and ink the edges with gold ink. Now you can thread your ribbon through the punched holes and start gluing it a little above the gold tape, starting in the back, but leaving the front to glue later.

4. Using another sheet of the Garden's paper, I cut out the same white flower, as the one on the front of the box, curled the petals up, and glued right over it, to give it some dimension.

5. Now you can glue the rest of your striped strip to the front of the box, and add a brad to the center of the flower.

6. I added the doily, teacup, and gold flourish from the Mixed Foiled Bag on the top of the box.

This is my entry for Flying Unicorn's What's the purpose Challenge, to make something pretty from something you'd normally throw away. Thanks for looking!

Together Today ~ FotoBella DT

I've been waiting for just the papers to scrap this photo of my late Grandma and Uncle, (her son), and I knew right away that My Mind's Eye Market Street ~ Ashbury Heights collection from FotoBella, was just what I wanted. The colors were just perfect for it! Not to mention the title (together today) from the Chipboard Elements, since I know they're with each other now, both looking over me.

I added the teal and pink pieces behind the title, and the floral piece on the photo from the Foiled Mixed Bag. After tearing and distressing the middle of the wreath, I added some of my own green fiber around it. For the stitched circles I used a Prima stamp, and added the Flair Pin and Decorative Button to finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by!
