Inspirational #221 ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

It's time to shape up, with Inspirational #221, at Red Rubber Inspirationals! I'm hosting this week and would love to see any type of stamped shape. I used circles for both of my examples, starting with this card that I made for a few other challenges as well.

This sketch at Viva La Verve was perfect to try the Bokeh effect for the first time for the May challenge at House of Cards!

I started with some white cardstock, and inked the background with yellow, black, and grey Distress Inks. Then I used a circle stencil with some white ink, and stamped the smaller circles using the Background Soup stamp. I used Circles of Love to emboss the silver dots, and for the buttons, which I popped up and added some brads to. The circles overlapping the image in the middle are cut from white and silver vellum. I used some grey ink to create the road, and stamped Tree Silhouettes along the sides, taking inspiration from this photo used for the May Stamping Challenge @ Scrapbook. com

For my next card I also used the Background Soup stamp, but with yellow paint, to create the small circles. All of the papers are from an older Bo Bunny (Flower Child) collection. I used Butterfly Flourish to stamp the butterfly and flourish. The butterfly was colored with Distress Inks and a coat of Yellow Stickles, which gave the wings a natural curl. Unfortunately, my sentiment got a little smudged, but it kinda goes with the distressed, shabby look I was going for, so I just left it alone. I stamped "Happy" using Sophisticated Sentiments, and "Mother's Day" using Contemporary Greetings

I finished it up with some more Stickles to the flower stickers, and flowers on the stamped flourish.

Thanks for your visit, and have a great day!

Inspirational #113 ~ Very Vintage

Happy Thursday! It's time for another stamping challenge @ Red Rubber Inspirationals! This week Mary Anne is hosting Inspirational #113 ~ to create a vintage card. Here's the sample that I made.

I took my inspiration from sketch #5 used for the March Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I started with some kraft cardstock and inked it with Distress inks. Then I stamped over it using  the Script Background stamp with water. It gave it a great aged and subtle look. I used Palette Inks (Bordeaux, Claret, and Violete) to stamp the Victorian Embellishments that I finished with french knots in the center. Around that I stamped and embossed the Fabulous Frames using Ranger gold embossing powder. I also used it to emboss the buttons and scalloped dots on the bottom using the Circles of love stamp set. The purple layer behind the stamping was sprayed and misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, which I also used to color the lace. After water distressing the edges I sewed them down with my sewing machine using gold metallic thread.

Be sure to visit the Red Rubber Inspirational blog for details! I hope to see you there!

Bumper 2 Bumper ~ Red Rubber Designs

This page was a lot of fun to work on, and I got real messy using my inks, stencils, stamps, and gesso!!

I was so inspired by sketch #2 for the Monthly Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com and would love to use it again!

I thought the design was perfect to showcase some of  my Red Rubber Designs stamps, background soup, build-a-background, circles of love, punctuation,  filled with blessings, and so splattered. For all of the inking on here I used Palette Inks (cote d'azure and sunflower) and Brilliance (starlite silver), which was also used to make the pinwheels.

Here's a closer look at one of the pinwheels that I made from white cardstock. I used an old silver washer for the center, which I plopped right around a blue enamel dot from My Mind's Eye (handsome collection).

Here's the journaling which I did in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking!
