Happy Thanksgiving ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thanksgiving! This holiday season, try adding burlap to your next project to create a natural look full of texture and dimension, that's perfect for Fall or Winter. I made a banner with it, on a card featuring an assortment of Autumn Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs

Autumn Swirls were embossed onto the background with Emerald Creek Baked Texture (Patina Oxide), after smooshing with Distress Inks (Bundled Sage and Rusty Hinge). It's matted with cardstock, embossed with more Baked Textures (Chunky Rust), and (Dirty Sand) on the base.

I did some hand-stitching around the burlap banner, backed with orange cardstock.

The wreath started with some fibers that I saved from some packaging.

Then I embossed the leaves, acorns, and sentiment with Emerald Creek (Burnt Copper Leaves) Embossing Powder, using the Filled With Blessings Unmounted Rubber Stamp for the leaves, and the Contemporary Greetings Unmounted Rubber Stamp for the sentiment.

The acorns were embossed with the Give Thanks Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp, and topped with a raffia bow.

Check back soon for the Winter version of this card, using burlap and stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

Fantastic Fall ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Fall IS fantastic and my favorite season of the year! So I created a spread in my art journal featuring the Luscious Leaves Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps, and the Filled with Blessings, Give Thanks, and Autumn Swirls Unmounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs.

In addition to the cute scarecrow from the Filled with Blessings Stamp, are the plaid and dots that I stamped randomly over two pages of my art journal using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink. Then I adhered pieces of burlap, followed with Prima White Gesso applied to the Tim Holtz Mini Birch Stencil. Once it all dried, Magicals and sprays were next to create some beautiful autumn colors.

The rest of the stamping was embossed with Emerald Creek Onyx Frost Embossing Powder, giving it some sparkle, including all of the Luscious Leaves that I fussy-cut.

The fence stamp is also included in the Filled with Blessings Stamp Set, and the pumpkins from the Give Thanks Stamp, colored with Distress Inks, Magicals, and Distress Sprays.

The title was stamped and embossed onto a torn piece of white tissue paper with the Autumn Swirls Stamp, and adhered onto the burlap with Prima Marketing Soft Matte Gel. Once it dried, I colored over it with some more Magicals and sprays.

Such a fun spread to work on, using some of my favorite Fall Stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

Happy Birthday Fall Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy first day of Fall, my favorite time of the year!! And a special Happy Birthday to my little sister, who unfortunately, won't be getting this card today, as I sent it out late. So hopefully she isn't seeing this right now. Lol!

I made her this card inspired by this beautiful Sketch #131 @ Cardabilities!

After misting some kraft cardstock, I used a doily stencil to apply some yellow texture paste. Then I painted the round chipboard, and stamped the lines with the Punctuation stamp from Red Rubber Designs. For the birthday sentiment I used the Savvy Sayings stamp, then wrapped it with some fibers, adding a couple of buttons inherited from my late grandma and great grandma.

I inked and sprayed the green scallops and added some brown beads to them. To make the leaves, I inked some white cardstock with Distress Inks, stamped them with the Filled With Blessings stamp, fussy cut them, and curled them up for dimension, adding them to the hand stitched branches. Since Autumn leaves is the theme for the Fantasy Stampers Challenge, I'll also be entering it there.

Inspirational #144: Fall Foliage

I just LOVE fall, and since my parents 43rd anniversary was a couple of weeks ago, I decided to make them a fall themed card for Inspirational #144, to use fall foliage.

I took my inspiration from bonus sketch #6 used for the October Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

All of the papers are an older line, Beautiful Life, from Bo Bunny and is still one of my favorites! I started out by making the wreath from a ring of paper, which I wrapped and glued with rafia, adding orange fiber around the outside.  Then I stamped and embossed the leaves using the Filled With Blessings stamp set from Red Rubber Designs.  Inside of the wreath and the swirly background were stamped with Autumn Swirls. The anniversary sentiment was done using Contemporary Greetings, and I added the label plate over Anniversary, which I got as a RAK from my scrappy friend Lisa. So thank you Lisa!

And THANK YOU for visiting my blog!

Inspirational #142: Pumpkin Patch ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

It's time for a new stamping challenge at Red Rubber Inspirationals! I'm hosting this week's Inspirational #142, to stamp a pumpkin, in honor of Fall, my favorite season. I created this card using the Filled With Blessings stamp set from Red Rubber Designs. I just love the scarecrow with the pumpkin and colored him in with markers, as well as the polka dots and fence! The leaves were misted with different Autumn colors.

The design inspiration came from sketch #5 used for the October Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I misted the tag and stamped the sentiment using Autumn Swirls.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Bumper 2 Bumper ~ Red Rubber Designs

This page was a lot of fun to work on, and I got real messy using my inks, stencils, stamps, and gesso!!

I was so inspired by sketch #2 for the Monthly Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com and would love to use it again!

I thought the design was perfect to showcase some of  my Red Rubber Designs stamps, background soup, build-a-background, circles of love, punctuation,  filled with blessings, and so splattered. For all of the inking on here I used Palette Inks (cote d'azure and sunflower) and Brilliance (starlite silver), which was also used to make the pinwheels.

Here's a closer look at one of the pinwheels that I made from white cardstock. I used an old silver washer for the center, which I plopped right around a blue enamel dot from My Mind's Eye (handsome collection).

Here's the journaling which I did in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking!
