Come Fly With Me Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! Today I'm featuring the Fly Fairy Unmounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs, with a few other stamps on this vintage tag. She was colored with Distress Inks, after embossing with Emerald Creek Black Cherry Embossing Powder, so she smells great too! Then I added some fibers to her coat and hat, for some faux fur texture. My favorite part though, is the little button that I embossed onto black cardstock with EC Kettle Copper Embossing Powder, used throughout the tag, including the pin she's perched on!

You can probably see the copper better in this photo, where I embossed "FLY" and the fairy dust from the Fly Fairy set. The rest of the sentiment, or song, was done with some old alpha stickers.

This Frank Sinatra song, which I'm sure you're already singing, inspired the music notes, stamped with the Vintage Background Stamp, onto torn strips of white tissue paper. Before adhering though, I used Distress Inks to color the tag and flowers. By lightly spritzing the Dotty Flowers Stamp with water, after you ink it, you'll get a great watercolor effect!

I finished it up with some fibers, for a fly-away look. Thanks for stopping by, and get these stamps and more at Red Rubber Designs!

Dad's Vintage Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! I went vintage with my Dad's birthday card this year, having fun with some Mixed Media Stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration came from Sketch #1, used for the March Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com, that I flipped horizontally.

The sentiment was embossed onto wood veneer banners with the Contemporary Greetings Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, anchored by some brads that I applied Prima Rust Effect Paste (Red and Brown) to. I also rusted the edges of the base of the card, cut from black cardstock.

But first I created the background with a stencil and black gesso, applied to white cardstock. Once dry, I lightly went over it with some Prima Wax (Rich Copper and Bronze Age). Then I stamped all over with the Vintage Background, Postage, and Fly Fairy Unmounted Rubber Stamps, using permanent black and red ink, while embossing others. Along the edges and corners, I embossed the Background Soup Stamp, and colored it all with some sprays, finishing the edges with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

The tape measure was colored with Distress Inks (Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, and Rusty Hinge), to which I applied Prima's Black Gesso to the Tim Holtz Measured Stencil. Like the black gesso on the background, I again gave it a light dab of Prima Wax (Rich Copper and Bronze Age), hand-stitching below it.

To personalize it some more, I added his mom and grandma's buttons that I was lucky enough to inherit, and truly is my treasure, for the March Treasure Challenge @ A Vintage Journey.

Then I embossed the Postage Stamp onto black cardstock, cutting out the center, to frame a piece of white cardstock colored with sprays. I popped it up, and added Prima's Patina Effect Paste to the chipboard numbers. The grid behind it was stamped with the Vintage Background Stamp, and finished with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

Thanks for looking, and shop for these great quality rubber stamps @  Red Rubber Designs!
