Come Fly With Me Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! Today I'm featuring the Fly Fairy Unmounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs, with a few other stamps on this vintage tag. She was colored with Distress Inks, after embossing with Emerald Creek Black Cherry Embossing Powder, so she smells great too! Then I added some fibers to her coat and hat, for some faux fur texture. My favorite part though, is the little button that I embossed onto black cardstock with EC Kettle Copper Embossing Powder, used throughout the tag, including the pin she's perched on!

You can probably see the copper better in this photo, where I embossed "FLY" and the fairy dust from the Fly Fairy set. The rest of the sentiment, or song, was done with some old alpha stickers.

This Frank Sinatra song, which I'm sure you're already singing, inspired the music notes, stamped with the Vintage Background Stamp, onto torn strips of white tissue paper. Before adhering though, I used Distress Inks to color the tag and flowers. By lightly spritzing the Dotty Flowers Stamp with water, after you ink it, you'll get a great watercolor effect!

I finished it up with some fibers, for a fly-away look. Thanks for stopping by, and get these stamps and more at Red Rubber Designs!

Wish Tag

This year hasn't started off very productive for me, at least creatively, but happy to wrap up the month with this tag.

The January Mini Challenge at More Than Words was to use the word WISH, inspiring the quote and stars. I started with a Tim Holtz Manila Tag, and used my mini blending tool to apply After Midnight and London Blue Dylusions Paints. Then I stamped the corners with an older Bo Bunny stamp dipped into Broken China Distress Oxide Ink. The rest of the stamping was embossed with Ranger's Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder, and the stitches done with Bo Bunny's Stitches Stamp.

The hole in the tag, chipboard star, and WISH were covered with Prima's Patina Effects Paste (Blue, Mint Green, and Brass), applied with a stipple brush in that order, and finished with some more Gold Tinsel EP. Then I sprinkled and adhered some gold and clear sequins.

I tied it off with a piece of blue lace, colored on the ends with Blueprint Sketch Distress Spray Stain, and some gold ribbon.

Thanks for looking!

Medallions Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! Time for some stamping inspiration from Red Rubber Designs! I made this mixed media tag with copper accents, and a bohemian vibe featuring the Mini Medallions, Medallions,  For Everything, and Be Happiness Rubber Stamps.

I started with white gesso that I coated a Ranger Manila Tag with, and to the TCW stencil in the center. Once dry, I used Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Wild Honey, and Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stains with a light spritz of water on my tag, and on a separate sheet of white cardstock for the medallions.

When that dried, I reapplied my stencil to the tag to add Prima's Metallique Wax (Vintage Gold and Rich Copper) over the gesso. Then I embossed the design along the top and bottom in copper with the For Everything Unmounted Stamp. Using the cardstock that I previously sprayed, I embossed the Medallions Stamp onto it, fussy-cutting, and layering it three times to make a flower.

I used three of the Mini Medallions, also embossed in copper, and popped two of them up with foam dots.

The phrase was stamped in black with the Be Happiness Unmounted Rubber Stamp onto a piece of torn vellum, inked along the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. Then I scattered and glued some blue sequins along the tag.

I finished off the top with some fibers and beads that I strung together. Thanks for looking!

International Scrapbook Day Tag ~ FotoBella DT

Happy International Scrapbook Day! I have a fun tag to share with you using some goodies from FotoBella.com.

I started with a Ranger Manila Tag #8 and gave it a coat of Prima White Gesso. Once dry, I applied it again to random areas of my Ranger Shatter Stencil to create a faux textured wall colored with Distress Inks (Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke) and Distress Crayons #3 (Antique Linen and Hickory Smoke). Then I finished the edges with Distress Embossing Powder (Brushed Corduroy). The window and wood palette were stamped with Prima's Old Town Stamp, and the butterflies with Prima's Rust & Dust Stamp.

I colored all of the stamping with Distress Inks, and popped up the wooden crate to use as a window box for the flowers. The cream one is Petaloo's Darjeeling Teastained Flowers, and the blue ones are older Prima ones.

National Doughnut Day ~ FotoBella DT

Happy National Doughnut Day! National Doughnut Day was created by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers in World War I, as comfort food to help boost morale. The doughnuts were often cooked in oil inside the metal helmets of American soldiers. American infantrymen were then commonly called "doughboys", which coincidentally is the name of my favorite doughnut shop here in Reno. I know a lot of doughnut shops will be giving out free doughnuts today, so take advantage and enjoy.

I thought it would be fun to make this quick and easy tag that you can attach to a box of doughnuts for any celebration. Bo Bunny's Forever Young I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella was the PERFECT collection for today, with all of the cute and colorful doughnuts!

From the Noteworthy pack I took out the tag, small pink doughnut, and green banner, inking the edges of the tag with Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon). Then I used the sticker alphas that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack to spell ENJOY, and fussy cut the blue and green doughnuts from the back of the "smile" paper. I backed the tag with the teal paper that comes in the Ephemera, and inked the edges with Picket Fence Distress Ink.  Then I hand-stitched the black zigzag, and tied it off with the orange ribbon, adding it to my box after wrapping it in the pink ribbon, which both come in the Ephemera. Very quick and easy to do!

So go and enjoy some doughnuts today!

Be Free Butterfly Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I just LOVE color, and wanted to showcase my new Asian Butterfly stamp from Red Rubber Designs, by drawing the eye to the wings with some Distress Ink coloring, and some sparkle with a Wink Of Stella!

The tags were cut with my Cricut Expression, using the good old "George and Basic Shapes" cartridge onto white and black cardstock. Then I covered the smallest black tag with gesso and white paint, before stamping the butterflies and sentiment  ( Distressed Typewriter Bet) with black ink. The circles were masked with Distress Ink (Blueprint Sketch) and Stickles, using the Crafter's Workshop (Well Rounded) stencil. Of course I added some hand stitching, with some bling in the center swirls. Then I finished it up with some layers of punching and some ribbon on top!

The tags were cut with my Cricut Expression, and I used two different border punches on black cardstock.

My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio 2 Tag ~ FotoBella DT

I had fun making this quick and easy tag using My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio 2 I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella!

I started by stamping the tag on the yellow "smile" paper, which I cut with my Cricut Expression using the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge. Then I made the circles with a stencil and some gesso. I adhered the bike sticker, adding the yellow Enamel Dots to the wheels. The Oh Happy Day tag was distressed before adding the Decorative Brad to it.  I also used the grey brad on the banner, and added the twine, ribbons, and hand-made flower from my own stash.

Thanks for your visit!
