Spiders Are Seen Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

What's spookier than a vase full of spiders? This Halloween card features the Spiders Are Seen Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs.

My design inspiration came from the October Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com, using sketch #1.

I colored all of my backgrounds with Distress Inks and water. The stamping was done using a permanent black ink, and embossed with Ranger's Rainbow Sparkle Embossing Powder, including the fun sentiment.

For even more sparkle, I applied Purple Stickles to the black, square brads, which have been in my stash for a very long time. It always feel great to use up those old supplies!

I colored the lace with inks and sprays, using two strips on top of each other to show the scalloped edge, and making it twice as wide. Then I  used some purple ribbon across the center of it, hiding the line of the original square, spider wed stamp, which I stamped twice, to give it more length. Finally I popped up my image after hand-stitching a circle around it, and using Clear Wink Of Stella on the swirly parts of the vase. The Be Scary Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp also has this image, and can be found at Red Rubber Designs, with a fabulous selection of other Autumn & Halloween Cling Mounted Stamps.

Thanks so much for your visit!

Owl Card

Happy Thursday!  I'm back with another Halloween card to share with you with embossed stamping!

The design was based on Sketch #1 for the September Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

To make the purple sky, I used my blending tool with Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress Inks, so I could dip a brush in water to make the clouds. Then I used an old toothbrush dipped in water to make my stars, in addition to the small, orange  pieces of bling.

The owl stamp from Graphic 45's An Eerie Tale, was stamped in black, and embossed with Ranger's Clear Embossing Powder, along with the diamond border. Then I used Prima's Circle Stitch stamp to highlight the moon. I used Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to color the owl, using a marker for the beak and eyes. Finally I added this sparkly black flower, which I made years ago, adding orange bling to the center.

Thanks for looking, and stopping by!
