2020 Christmas Tree Card

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Unfortunately I wasn't able to get as many Christmas cards done this year as I would've liked, but did manage to duplicate this one a few times.

The background started with some Lindy's Gang Sprays and Magicals to create a light golden shimmer, which is hard to see in the photos. Then I used a stamp with Distress Inks (Aged Mahogany and Barn Door), and spritzed it with water before stamping for a more vintage look.

To make the tree, I applied a heavy layer of white gesso to the Tree's Stencil from Creative Embellishments, using a palette knife to create texture. Once dry, I reapplied the stencil and used a stencil brush with Art Alchemy Metallique Paints (Green Olive and Dark Forest). Then I highlighted all of that texture with Finnabair Wax (Vintage Gold), along with the card edges.

Red and gold sequins made the perfect ornaments, and the star was embossed onto black cardstock with Ranger (Gold Tinsel) Embossing Powder.

The same embossing powder was also used for the sentiment, stamped onto red cardstock, and backed with a strip of ribbon.

Thanks for looking, and have a Happy New Year!

Holiday Wreath Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello! I'm back with the Christmas version of the Thanksgiving Card that I made last month using burlap, adhered again with some hand-stitching, featuring some Unmounted Christmas Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs

The background was smooshed with Lindy's Sprays (Cathedral Pines Green and Ponderosa Pines Olive). Then I embossed the Holly Swirls with Emerald Creek (Charred Gold) Embossing Powder, also added to the edges. The same Lindy's sprays were used to deepen the color of the leaves, and Distress Spray Stain (Candied Apple) to paint the berries.

The edges of the red card base were embossed with Emerald Creek (Chinese New Year) EP, also used for the sentiment with the Vintage Santa Stamp. The next layer was embossed onto cream cardstock using Emerald Creek (Topiary Green) EP.

I also used Emerald Creek (Topiary Green) EP to emboss the Holiday Wreath and holly sprig using the Glorious Holiday stamp.

Since the bow I used on my Thanksgiving Card was made with matte raffia, I used a glossy raffia on this one for some holiday shimmer.

Thanks for looking!

Holly Swirls Card Set ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Stamping is a great way to make multiple cards, so I created this set featuring the Holly Swirls Unmounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs, which includes four different holiday sentiments.

The colors and background were inspired by this months color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang.

The first thing I did was to sprinkle a sheet of 12" X 12" white cardstock with course salt, which will make four cards.  Then I sprinkled with some Magical Powders (Rizzo's Rowdy Red, Greased Lightnin' Green, and Sassy Sapphire) and sprayed with water. The card below shows a heavier use of the salt, which I brushed off after drying, and when combined with the Magicals leaves a beautiful effect that's impossible to duplicate, making each card one of a kind.

With so much color, I went with LSG Purely White Embossing Powder along the edges and punchwork, and to stamp the Holly Swirls and sentiment for snowy, frosty look.

Then I used a paintbrush and water with my Magical Powders to color the holly and leaves, which really brought out the design.

The inside was stamped with the Christmas Blessings Unmounted Rubber Stamp using Memento (Lady Bug) Ink, and my wish to you as well.

Thanks for looking, and shop Red Rubber Designs for a great variety of Winter & Christmas Stamps

Button Day Cards ~ FotoBella DT

Happy National Button Day! I can't believe another year has already gone by since my post here celebrating one of my favorite embellishments! I got into my late grandma's stash to create a couple of cards using some of my older Bundles from FotoBella. Pinterest is always full of great ideas, and inspired this cute, little, snowman family.

The background was done with Hickory Smoke, Pumice Stone, and Weathered Wood Distress Inks spritzed with some water. Then I used an old toothbrush to apply snow using White Linen Dylusions Paint. The actual snow texture, which I absolutely LOVE, was done with Prima Marketing's Snowflake Paste, used on the hills and the tree sticker applied with Bo Bunny's Palette Knife!

The snowmen were made with three buttons, knotted at the eyes, with scraps of ribbon for the scarves. Then I cut the hats from black cardstock, coating them with Black Diamond Stickles, also used on the edges of the sentiment.

This other card was made for my nephew, and again uses up some older Bundles, including Bo Bunny's Pop Quiz Papers with Black Soot Distress Ink applied to the edges.

After printing the bus onto white cardstock, I applied Glossy Accents to the windows, and Orange Peel Stickles to the lights. Black buttons make perfect wheels, atop the embossed music notes stamped with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink

Bo Bunny Bundles and Ephemera Packs almost always have buttons in them, including chipboard ones. Don't be afraid to mix up different collections like I did on this banner strung together with some twine.

You can never have enough Buttons, so shop FotoBella.com to add to your collection!

Ginger Joy Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Holidays! Today I'm featuring the Ginger Joy Cling Mounted Stamp from Red Rubber Designs! Details can be found on the Red Rubber Designs Blog.

The background was stamped with Candied Apple Distress Ink using the Gingham Background stamp, with a strip of sheer ribbon to allow the pattern to show.

I made the tag to look like a cookie sheet, with scored lines along the edges. Then I stamped and embossed the gingerbread man onto Cork Paper, which gave it the PERFECT texture, using the Ginger Joy stamp, with paper piecing embossed in red, and colored with sprays and paints. For some more dimension, I used black puffy paint on his eyes.

The sentiment was embossed in white using the Contemporary Greetings stamp, with some rick rack over it, and tied up with some ribbon.

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful holiday!

Holiday Collage Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! I made my first holiday card of the season combining some wonderful Winter & Christmas Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

Taking my inspiration from Sketch #3 for the October Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com, I decided to go horizontal with my card, making the stamped reindeer my focal point by popping it up.

I was also inspired by the beautiful October Mood Board no.79 at Scrap Africa with the snow covered trees and muted colors!

The background was smooshed with some Distress Inks, with a light splatter of Lindy's Stamp Gang Sidewalk Chalk spray. Then I stamped the trees and mountains with the Mountain Scenery Unmounted Cling Rubber Stamp, going over it with some watered down white paint, and embossing the falling snow with the Speckle Background stamp. The script and sentiment were stamped with the Vintage Santa stamp set, which is one my favorite holiday stamps!

I used the Holiday Collages Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp for my reindeer, colored with Distress Inks, and applied some Clear Wink of Stella onto the frame. Then I used some Artists Tape to mask the frame, and embossed some more snow again with the Speckle Background stamp, adding a sparkly brad in the corner.

I also embossed some "snow" along the right side of my card using the So Splattered Cling Mounted Stamp. Then I finished it off with some machine stitching and a sprig of holly.

     Thanks for stopping by!

MME Christmas On Market Street Card And Ornament Exchange ~ FotoBella DT

I hope you had a wonderful and festive holiday, and wishing you happiness and health for the New Year! The FotoBella Design Team recently had a fun exchange to make a card and rosette ornament for one member of the team. Here's what I made and sent to Apryl, using My Mind's Eye Christmas On Market Street I Want It All Bundle!

Cutting a circle from the gold dotted vellum, I adhered it to a white card lightly misted with gold. Around the circle I embossed the stitching with a Prima stamp, and added some chipboard pieces and Paper Tape.

Inside of the card I used some more vellum, chipboard, and Paper Tape with the Journaling Cards, which gave me the perfect spot for writing.

To make the ornament I used white cardstock and punched the snowflake edge, spraying it again with some gold. For the center rosette I used the same gold striped vellum that's inside the card topped with some chipboard, and strung with some gold fiber.

Here's a close-up!

And the back where I added a snowflake from the Mixed Bag with a red Brad in the center!

To see the gorgeous card and ornament that I received from ReNae, and the other Design Team projects, please visit the FotoBella Blog

Train Collage Christmas Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

My mother-in-law just LOVES vintage trains, so of course I had to make her this Christmas card featuring the Train Collage stamp from Red Rubber Designs!

I was inspired by this November Week 1 Sketch at Viva la Verve Sketches!

For the background I blended various Distress Inks onto some white cardstock to give it a vintage look. Then I used Palette Inks (L'Amore Red and Giverney Green) with the Vintage Script stamp, and tore and distressed the edges. I used the same Distress Ink colors on some more white cardstock for the background where I stamped the train with black ink twice, so that I could make a frame with it for this months Stamped and Cut Window Technique at House of Cards. I also cut out the windows in the train and backed it with some yellow glitter paper.

To color the train and leaves, I used Distress Inks again, and a gold pen, with touches of Stickles for some sparkle. After adding the ribbons, I popped up my frame with some Pop Dots. The sentiment was stamped and embossed using the Vintage Christmas stamp.
