Floral Collage ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy weekend! I'm back with an art journal spread featuring some Floral Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs

The background was colored with Lindy's Magicals (Rowdy Rizzo Red, Greased Lightnin' Green, and Yodeling Yellow). Then I applied black gesso to a floral Prima stencil, shown on the left, to reveal the colors.

The main image and some of the plants were recycled from a magazine. I also recycled some fruit netting underneath the main image, where I randomly applied some Prima Olive Green Rust Effect Paste. The paste was also used along the torn edges of the black cardstock, and finished with a coat of Emerald Creek (Apple Martini) Embossing Powder, for a cool mossy effect.

All of the stamping was done with Archival Ink (Jet Black), embossed with Emerald Creek (Black Onyx) Embossing Powder, and colored with the same Magicals as the background. The big yellow flowers were made with the Charcoal Flowers Stamp.

To create a bush, I cut off the vase from the Spring Bouquet Stamp. Then I added the red flowers, embossed with the Floral Collage Stamp.

          Thanks for looking!

Bee Happy ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I'm always happy when I'm working with color, and of course using my Red Rubber Designs Stamps, featuring quite a few on this double spread in my art journal!

After coloring the background with Lindy's Gang Magicals and Sprays, I used Lindy's Purely White Embossing Powder with the Script Background Unmounted Stamp over both pages. The rest of the stamping was embossed with Midnight Pewter Embossing Powder. Then I used the Distressed Typewriter Bet Stamp (no longer available) to spell "Bee", framed with one of the Rose Wine Labels, that I backed with clear acetate colored with Butterscotch Alcohol Ink.

"Happy" was embossed with the Vintage Greetings Stamp (also unavailable), and colored like the rest of the stamping, with Lindy's Magicals and Sprays. The Beautiful Butterflies and bees were curled for dimension, with some Clear Wink of Stella added to the wings for a touch of sparkle.

The bees and flowers with the beads added to them, were stamped with the Be Fabulous Unmounted Rubber Stamp.

Then I stamped the other flowers with the Floral Collage Cling Mounted Stamp, to go with the script on the background. The lattice design behind them was embossed with the For Everything Unmounted Stamp.

I had so much fun creating this happy spread! Thanks for looking!

Eclectic Rainbow Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I always have fun when I'm playing with color, and used the rainbow to create this card with Distress Inks and stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration came from Sketch #150 at Feeling Sketchy, as I love combining cards with tags.

I started with a Tim Holtz Manilla Tag that I applied Distress Inks (Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet) to with my blending tool. Then I dripped water from a paintbrush over each color, and let it run down the tag. Once dry, I stamped the dragonflies using the Everyday Eclectic Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set. Then I stamped and layered my flower on top with the Nothing Is Better Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, coloring it with Distress Inks. Behind the tag I used Distress Inks again onto white cardstock, blended my colors, (Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet) and used black gesso to create the stripes with the Tim Holtz Stripes Stencil. Behind the stripes I used a piece of green mesh that I had saved from some fruit. I can never throw those away. Lol!

I used the same ink and dripping water technique on the pocket, machine stitching the edges in black. The striped gesso piece was stitched along the edges with a rainbow thread. Then I stamped the black flower with the Natural Dream Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp, and the smaller flowers with the Floral Collage Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp

Finally, for the sentiment, I used the Darling Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, stamped in black.

Thanks for your visit!

Fabulous Framed Faux Mirror ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

This fabulous little mirror was inspired by those old, vintage mirrors that are all scratched up and discolored! I have a full tutorial on how to make it yourself on the Red Rubber Blog, along with some photos of the tag where I placed it.

Here's a peek at my tag, featuring the following stamps from Red Rubber Designs

Floral Collage Thank You Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Watercolors are a great way to color your stamping, like I did on this card that I made for the Red Rubber Design Team! I also used them to paint the background onto white cardstock, stamping the sentiment with the For Everything stamp.

The white cardstock really makes these flowers pop by stamping them with black ink using the  Floral Collage stamp from Red Rubber Designs, and coloring them with watercolors. I stamped and colored each image twice so that I could fussy cut some petals and curl them up.

Homegrown summer is the theme this week at Simonsaysstampblog, and what's better than some beautiful flowers in bloom on a nice, sunny day! I only wish I could keep the real ones alive, but this card is how I grow flowers. Lol!
