Green Best Wishes Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

My parents recently got their genealogy results done, and found out that my Dad has a little Irish in him, which we never knew. He's also battling cancer, and just had his 3rd stroke, so I wanted his birthday card to be extra special. So I combined some of my Red Rubber Designs stamps with some gesso, sprays, and embossing powders to create this lucky card full of love and hope!

The first thing I did was to make the lake from white gesso, using a palette knife to create ripples. Then I colored it and the background with some Lindy's Sprays (Cathedral Pines Green, Frosty Forest Green, Freaky Frankenlime, Ocean Breeze Blue, and Tibetan Poppy Teal). I added a few more layers of spray to the water, followed by Prima Art Alchemy Paints (Mermaid Sparkle and Magical Pond), and clear embossing powder. Along the edges of the lake, I adhered some green glitter.

The trees were inked in black, with some embossed with Lindy's Gang (Angel Wings Peacock) EP using the Tree Silhouettes and Mountain Scenery Stamps.

The shamrocks were stamped and embossed with the Celtic Images Stamp, with some rhinestones added to the centers. The gold embossing was done with Ranger (Gold Tinsel). Then I embossed the sentiment with the Sophisticated Sentiments Stamp using Emerald Creek (Black Cherry) EP.

Thanks for visiting, and get these stamps and more at Red Rubber Designs!

Kisses Layout ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I finally got a wedding page done for my sister and brother-in-law using mixed media and some stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration came from this beautiful sketch from Scrap Africa!

I started by coating a layer of  Prima Clear Gesso onto watercolor paper, attached some white tissue paper to it, and sealed it with another coat. Once dry, I used some Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays onto the background (Brushed Nickel, Black Orchid Silver, and Cathedral Pines Green), waited for it to dry again, and then stamped black script over it with the Beauty of a Woman Background Unmounted Stamp.  For the title I used the Sweet Sayings Unmounted Stamp with red ink to make it stand out.

All of the other stamping was embossed onto clear, red, and green vellum papers using Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder (Queen Sheba's Silver), and the Celtic Images Cling Mounted Stamp, for my Irish brother-in-law. Then I used a small watercolor brush to color in the designs with Lindy's Stamp Gang Spray (Black Orchid Silver).

The lattice work was done with white gesso and TCW Butterfly Collage Stencil. Once dry, I used the stencil again to apply some Inka-Gold (Platinum) with my finger. Then I layered three different sheer ribbons, and attached some white fibers and strands of pearls across the page.

All of the red flowers are Petaloo's Textured Red Blossoms.

The small white flowers I've had for a long time, and just added some pearls to the centers. The large white one is from Prima's Holiday Jubilee. Then I scattered some buttons around, stitched in white, to go with the hand-stitching I did in between the photos.

Thanks for looking!

Celtic Thank You Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy weekend! I just got done using the Celtic Images stamp, from Red Rubber Designs, to make this St. Patrick's Day/Thank You card for my Sister and Irish Brother-in-law. Hopefully they're not reading this, as I haven't sent it out yet. Lol!

My design inspiration came from this beautiful sketch # 139 @ Feeling Sketchy!

And my color inspiration came from this gorgeous color combo for the Feb. Inspirational Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I started by spritzing and smooshing some sprays and Distress Inks onto white cardstock, for the Splatter, Spritz, and Smoosh Challenge @ Stamps and Stencils. Then I embossed the Celtic cross, Thank You, and edges of the card and tag, with Lindy's Stamp Gang (Queen Sheba's Silver) embossing powder. The four leaf clovers were stamped with Giverney Green Palette Ink and colored with Distress Ink (Lucky Clover). For a little sparkle, I applied a Wink Of Stella (Clear) to them, along with the cross.

Half of the rose was sprayed, then covered with Eucalyptus Stickles, which I also used randomly on the background. After making the pleat in the corner, by wetting it first with water, which I also did for the edges, I added some machine stitching using two different greens. Then I sprinkled the card with some buttons, using different colors of threads to attach them.

After some more spritzing and smooshing to make the tag, I added a silver eyelet, and tied it off with some green ribbons.
