Charming Gardens Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

With Spring right around the corner, I wanted to feature the Charming Gardens and Charming Gardeners Cling Mounted Stamps from Red Rubber Designs, since I hadn't used them since the blog post here, and they're so much fun to color!

I was inspired by this beautiful bonus sketch, used in last months Card Sketch Challenge at Scrapbook.com

The sky was done with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, and the stamping colored with Distress Inks and Distress Spray Stains. Then I finished the circle edges with Ranger's Verdigris EP, adding some to the fountain, watering can, and bucket. Finally, I added some Glossy Accents to the water in the fountain, and the puddle under the can.

The sentiment was embossed with the Sophisticated Sentiments Unmounted Rubber Stamp using LSG Purely White EP.

I used a resist technique by stamping the dots onto white cardstock with the Build A Background Stamp, using Ranger's Clear EP. Then I went over the dots with my blending tool dipped into Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, which I also used to stamp the flowers with the Happily Grateful Stamp, embossing the leaves from the set with Ranger's Verdigris EP.

Showy Strips Birthday Card Preview ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

With so many September birthdays this month, I decided to feature some fun and bold stamps from Red Rubber Designs using some blue bling to mimic "sapphires",  the birthstone for September. I made this card from black and white cardstock, with lots of embossed stamping in black and white, to really make the bling stand out.

Happy Easter! ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Easter!! I wanted to share the whole card that I made featuring the Somebunny's Thinking stamp from Red Rubber Designs!

I started with a recycled piece of cardboard, that I sprayed with black, brown, and copper mists. Then for some texture I added Distress Embossing Powder (Vintage Photo) and Ranger Verdigris Embossing powder, which I also used for the grass on the tag using the Mountain Scenery stamp. After applying some white gesso dots to the tag, I colored it with Distress Inks, as well as  the cute bunnies, chipboard banner pieces, the lilac flowers, and to color the lace. The flowers were stamped with the Happily Grateful and Pressed Flowers stamps.

My design inspiration came from the March Cardmaps Challenge at Scrapbook.com using this Cardmaps sketch!

It's also my entry for the following challenges.

(cardboard), the color lilac, something metal (the tag bracket and brads on the flowers), and metal effect.

Blue Vase Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I had a lot of inspiration while making this card, using some fabulous stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

I was first inspired by this beautiful sketch # 126 @ Cardabilities, which I flipped.

Then came the vase which was inspired by The Mixed Media Card Challenge #13 to use the color blue, with an optional vase element.

I cut my vase out of white cardstock with my Cricut Expression using the Serenade cartridge. Then I stamped the blue design using two shades of blue and the Victorian Embellishments stamp. To give it some shine, I applied the rest of my Glossy Accents, afraid it wouldn't be enough, which along the top of the vase I did miss a few spots. But it makes it look aged, so in this case it worked fine!

I also used white cardstock for the background, and started with the Script Background stamp. Then I used a stencil and some gesso to create the horizontal stripes behind the vase. Once that dried I used three different blue mists to spray all over the card. Next came the leaves, which I embossed with Ranger Blue Glass embossing powder, using the Happily Grateful stamp, which I also used to make the flowers. So that you could see more of the leaf design I decided to hand-stitch more stems to attach my flowers to. I added some light blue bling to the centers, and darker blue bling to the punched flowers along the right. The sentiment was also embossed onto blue vellum using the Darling stamp.
