Bo Bunny Altitude Layout And Sketch ~ FotoBella DT

Following the four year drought here in the Sierra's, it really has been SNOW wonderful to finally see snow again! Here's a page that I scrapped using Bo Bunny's Altitude I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella.

I took my design inspiration from this awesome Bo Bunny sketch for this month's challenge!

The background was stamped and embossed with a glitter embossing powder to create the small dots and snowflakes. Then I applied gesso and Glitter Paste (Sugar) to the Ranger Dot Fade Stencil and TCW (Texturized) Stencil along the top and bottom of my page. After drying, I colored some of the texture with LSG Sprays and Magicals. Then I tore into my paper and applied Snow-Tex to the edges, along with the fussy-cut snowflakes that I also added Glitter Paste Sugar) to, finishing it up with some bling in the centers. The Glitter Paste was also added to all of the Buttons, as well as the additional buttons I took from the Ephemera

I made the top banner by applying Broken China Distress Ink over the top of the SNOW letters that I got from the Layered Chipboard. To give it some sparkle I used some more Glitter Paste again over the letters, and hand stitched across the top. I used a Wink Of Stella (Clear) over the alpha stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack, to spell WONDERFUL over the vellum banner that I created using a banner from the Noteworthy pack as a stencil. Then I did some machine stitching over the top, which is a great way to attach vellum!

The frames around and under my photo also come in the Noteworthy pack, and I added this gorgeous Prima flower to the corner!

Here's a closer look at the tag that I made from the grey paper found in the Ephemera, where I added some more Snow-Tex and Snowflakes tied off with some white fibers.

Bo Bunny Altitude "Icicles" Layout ~ FotoBella DT

The new Bo Bunny Altitude I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella is SO gorgeous, packed full of goodies and fabulous colors, for all of your winter projects!!! I scrapped this photo of my house when I lived in Truckee, CA, with icicles so big they hit the ground.

The beautiful chevron paper (Cold Snap), which I got from the Collection Pack, was my starting point, as it brought to mind a warm, cozy quilt. Then I pulled out my Ephemera pack, and used the book page with an image of a house on it, tearing around the edges, along with some of the script, and glued it to my page. I applied a light coat of gesso over it, and misted it with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays (Witch's Potion Purple, Afternoon Delight Denim, and Delphinium Turquoise). After it dried, I used a stencil to mask the dots with some more gesso. Along the left side of my photo, I used a Martha Stewart stamp to emboss the lacy scallops in silver.

I hand-stitched the large circle with three different colors of embroidery thread, using silver metallic thread to tie them all together, using my Twisted Stitching. The banner was made from the stickers in the Collection Pack, and backed with distressed, white cardstock. I spelled out ICICLES using another sticker set that comes in the Ephemera pack, along with the blue fringe trim, which I used under the banner. The buttons and silver snowflake are also included in the Ephemera pack, as well as the navy and purple papers that I used to mat my photo. All of the KaiserCraft flowers came from my own stash, which I misted, scrunched, and dipped into gesso.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Woodland Snowflake Tutorial ~ Fotobella DT

I'm so excited to share my first tutorial for Fotobella using Bo bunny's Woodland Winter I want it all bundle! I'm just in LOVE with this collection of GORGEOUS papers and embellies, not to mention the colors!! Perfect with these snow pics of mine.

I started by using some Glimmer Mist (slate) and reninker (antique linen) on the background. Then I used a snowflake stamp. The distressed edges were covered with Gesso. Here's a closer look at the typed journaling, which was one of the ingredients for this month's 5 Ingredients + yours challenge @ Scrapbook.com. The other ingredients were to use the color navy, ribbon, something stamped, and 3 pictures.

To make the snowflakes start by gathering some twigs outside. Using the Woodland Blizzard paper fussy cut out some snowflakes. I decided on this one that I used on the top left of my LO. Then pick another paper and cut out a circle slightly larger than your snowflake. I used Woodland Winter Journal.  Now cover the edges with gesso and glue your snowflake onto it.

Break your twigs into 6 equal pieces, and cover with Gesso.

Glue the twigs onto your snowflake, using the center design as your guide.

Now find some bling for the center. I used this pearl to mimic a snowball.

Then cut pieces from another snowflake and glue under the circle, in between the twigs. Here's the finished result.

You can get so many different looks just by combining different snowflakes, papers, and gems. Here's the other one that I made.

If you don't have Gesso you could always use white paint. Stickles or Smooch could also work to make your snowflakes sparkle. Just have fun with it!
