Hello, Spring ~ FotoBella DT

Today is officially the first day of Spring, bringing warmer temperatures and new growth. Since I'm fairly new to Distress Crayons, I decided to play with them again in my art journal, using Bo Bunny's Secret Garden Ephemera, Noteworthy, and Chipboard from FotoBella.com.

From the Ephemera, I tore some strips from the book page, inking the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink using my Blending Tool. Then I stamped over them and the background with Prima Marketing's Garden Fable Stamp using Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink. After a few spritzes of Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain, I went over everything with a coat of Prima Marketing's Clear Gesso to prime it for the Distress Crayons

From Set #1, I used Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron, from Set #2, Chipped Sapphire, Peeled Paint, and Seedless Preserves, and from Set #3, Antique Linen and Black Soot. Some areas along the right didn't blend so well, but could'v been from not enough gesso. So I used a baby wipe to lighten up some of my colors, and to rub through Tim Holtz' Blossom Stencil.

The patterned paper in the middle comes in Bo Bunny's Secret Garden Ephemera. I tore along the edges, and went over them with Black Soot Distress Crayon, blending it with my fingers. Then I added the glittery bird and Hello, Spring banner from the Noteworthy.

Finally I added the Chipboard strip of grass, next to the grasshopper that I colored with my Distress Crayons!

Bo Bunny Secret Garden Sketch Layout ~ FotoBella DT

I love this photo of my aunts, and told them when I took it that I'd scrap it one day! That was a few years ago, but waiting for Bo Bunny's Secret Garden Collection from FotoBella to scrap it with, was well worth it!

My design inspiration came from the July Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge.

I started by stamping a border around my blue cardstock with two different doilies from the Bo Bunny Stitches Stamp, using Picket Fence Distress Ink for a softer, faded look. After punching and spraying the back of the "Greenhouse" paper, I used the same stamp for the stitches, as well as on the butterfly and floral paper that I got from the Ephemera. Then I layered and stamped the butterflies using the Bo Bunny Flutter Stamp onto white cardstock colored with Distress Inks (Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Seedless Preserves).

For the titlework, I used the glittery "Wonderful" embellishment that comes in the Layered Chipboard, and spelled "MEMORIES" from the alpha stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Paper Collection Pack

I used the "Be Happy" banner, also from the Layered Chipboard, along the left side of the main photo. The floral strips are stickers from the paper pack, that I placed onto punched paper.

The light purple Chipboard flourish, was given a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium Crazing, and once dry, swiped with three different colors of permanent ink to highlight the crackles.

The flowers I've had in my stash for awhile now, and I just added Brads to the centers. Even though I didn't do any "real" stitching on this page, I did stitch the Buttons

     Thanks for looking!

Bo Bunny Secret Garden Shaker Tags ~ FotoBella DT

Shake things up with these elegant vellum shaker tags made from Bo Bunny's Secret Garden I Want It All Bundle @ FotoBella!

The tags are cut from the papers from the 12 X 12 Collection Pack and the Ephemera, and measure 5 1/2" X 3 1/2",  making them the perfect size to fit the vellum foil pieces. But first I punched holes on the tops, and finished the edges with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder. Using fibers from my own stash I tied them off through the holes.

After adding some glitter pieces to the centers of the tags, I ran a glue stick around 1/2" of the vellum pieces, and glued them in place. Then I machine-stitched around the vellum, so the glitter doesn't escape, and attached a Brad to the top center right below the punched hole.

I used some more of my fibers to string through the banner Buttons, as well as the bird one on this purple tag.

To finish them off, I added some of the word stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack

Bo Bunny Secret Garden Layout ~ FotoBella DT

Bo Bunny's Secret Garden I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella isn't just for Spring and Easter projects, like I've mentioned before. I created this special memorial page of a friend who passed away a few years ago, and love that the papers and colors actually match her outfit!

By using the left side of this sketch from Let's Scrap Sketches, I was able to showcase some of the beautiful papers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack, along with some from the Ephemera, creating a quilt design made from 1 1/2" squares!

All of my paper edges were distressed with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, and finished with machine stitching. In the center of my squares, I added various Buttons and Brads, along with some from the Ephemera, like the ones in my flower centers, which also come in the Ephemera, and were colored with Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord Distress Inks.

The bottom left side of the page was sprayed with some blue and silver LSG sprays, before adding the purple Chipboard flourish. To make the title I used the alpha stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack to spell "REMEMBERING", and masked "ROXANE" using the Tim Holtz Cargo Alphabet Stencil with Distress Inks (Blueprint Sketch and Seedless Preserves).

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Bo Bunny Secret Garden 2 Pager ~ FotoBella DT

The gorgeous new Bo Bunny Secret Garden I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella was everything and more than I needed, to make this 2 pager from some landscape photos of one of my favorite spots, right down the road from where I lived in Truckee, CA!

I was instantly inspired by this sketch for the March 2 Page Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook, as it's been awhile since I've done a 2 pager!

Since the 12 X 12 Collection Pack comes with 2 sheets of each design, making it easy to create a 2 pager, I started with 2 of the "Vineyard" papers for my background. To mimic the field of flowers, I started by spraying the top border with green sprays. Then I added some sprays to some Prima Clear Gesso, and applied it with the Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil. From the "Corsage" paper I fussy-cut the flower clusters, and added 3 of them to my pages. To tie the 2 pagers together I cut the floral garland Chipboard, and placed it over 3 of my photos. I also brought the pages together with a strip of the purple ribbon that comes in the Ephemera

All of the titlework and banner with the date, was done with the stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack. I added another piece of chipboard to the left of "Still", and under "Spring" I added the green and purple bracket from the Layered Chipboard, using the rose banner piece on the right side of the page.

The papers matting the photo, banner date, and "Spring" all come from the Ephemera, and along with all of the other papers were distressed along the edges and machine-stitched. To the banner with the date, I added a couple of Brads.

Lucky 2 Have U Card ~ FotoBella DT

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Sixteen years ago today my cousin dragged me out with him, and brought me and my husband together, so this Irish holiday really holds a special place in my heart! Of course I had to make him a card, and with all of the greens in Bo Bunny's new Secret Garden Ephemera  it was easy to do.

I tore a piece of the book page from the Ephemera with the green definition, and colored it with Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron). Then I layered it over the papers that also come in the Ephemera, adding gold embossing powder to the edges, as well as the shamrock that I cut from green cardstock. I added Green Stickles to the shamrock and outlined it with black hand-stitching. For the sentiment I used Tim Holtz' Cargo Alphabet Stencil, masking LUCKY with Jet Black Archival Ink and Golden Rod Stickles. The rest was masked with Memento Cottage Ivy and Bo Bunny's Wasabi Glitter Paste. Then I finished it up with the gold sheer ribbon from my own stash, and the striped button from the Ephemera, that you can get @ FotoBella!

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful and safe St. Patrick's Day!
