Medallions Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Thursday! Time for some stamping inspiration from Red Rubber Designs! I made this mixed media tag with copper accents, and a bohemian vibe featuring the Mini Medallions, Medallions,  For Everything, and Be Happiness Rubber Stamps.

I started with white gesso that I coated a Ranger Manila Tag with, and to the TCW stencil in the center. Once dry, I used Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Wild Honey, and Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stains with a light spritz of water on my tag, and on a separate sheet of white cardstock for the medallions.

When that dried, I reapplied my stencil to the tag to add Prima's Metallique Wax (Vintage Gold and Rich Copper) over the gesso. Then I embossed the design along the top and bottom in copper with the For Everything Unmounted Stamp. Using the cardstock that I previously sprayed, I embossed the Medallions Stamp onto it, fussy-cutting, and layering it three times to make a flower.

I used three of the Mini Medallions, also embossed in copper, and popped two of them up with foam dots.

The phrase was stamped in black with the Be Happiness Unmounted Rubber Stamp onto a piece of torn vellum, inked along the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. Then I scattered and glued some blue sequins along the tag.

I finished off the top with some fibers and beads that I strung together. Thanks for looking!

Victorian Thank You Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Thank you for stopping by again! I'm so pleased to share my full Victorian Thank You card for Red Rubber Designs DT!

Besides inks and embossing powders, this whole card was colored using Walnut Ink 2-pack Cupcake Spritzers. After using both sprays on the background, I sprayed it again with the pink (Cherry Blossom) onto the Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil for a faded Victorian wallpaper look.

Then I tore a piece of cream tissue paper, and stamped it with the Vintage Background stamp using Burnt Umber Palette Ink for the script, and Belle Rose on the top right. I colored the edges with the brown (Java) spritzer, and adhered the tissue paper with Tim Holtz' Distress Collage Medium (Vintage). The rest of the stamping was embossed using Lindy's Stamp Gang Twilight Bronze Slate, and I used the Victorian Borders Cling Mounted Stamp across the front.

The flowers were embossed with the Medallions stamp, with Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the centers.

The large sentiment was embossed with the Thank You stamp, and I finished it off with distressed edges and machine stitching. Thanks for looking!

Inspirational #207 ~ So Sentimental

It's time to get sentimental this week, with my new Inspirational #207, at Red Rubber Inspirationals! The theme is to stamp any kind of sentiment on your project. I hope you'll join us!
Here's the sample that I made.

I lightly misted the woodgrain paper and stamped the background using Vintage Background and Burnt Umber Palette Ink. Then I embossed the rest of my stamping using Ranger's Verdigris embossing powder, which I also used on the brads and copper button.  I made the flowers using Medallions, the border using the For Everything stamp, and the sentiment with the Thank You stamp. Then I stitched the lace on and added the trim. I got even more sentimental by adding the buttons and stone that the trim is through, because it once belonged to my MIL's mother, and this card is for her. I love adding special touches like that!

Make sure to stop by Red Rubber Designs for a fabulous selection of stamps at great prices!

Inspirational #121 ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Today's new challenge @ Red Rubber Inspirationals is More Precious than Pearls, with Inspirational #121. I made this card for my husband, and used pearls on the flower centers and Liquid Pearls to make the heart.

This beautiful sketch #99 from Cardabilities was just the inspiration I was looking for!

I started by stamping Well Defined Backgrounds onto white tissue paper, and applied it with gesso onto grey cardstock. Then I spritzed it with Pewter Sheer Shimmer Spray. I used Punctuation to stamp the red border using VersaMagic Red Magic Ink. I also used So Splattered, I Heart You, and Pressed Flowers. The sentiment was stamped using A Thousand Thanks, using the dimensional banner technique for the May Card Challenge @ Scrapbook.com. Finally I stamped the flowers with Medallions. Here's a closer look!

Inspirational #109 ~ Heartfelt Thanks

Here's the sample card that I made for Inspirational #109 hosted by Mary Anne, to make a thank you card. It was perfect timing as I needed to make one anyways for my in laws.

I started with some kraft cardstock, and a tag and papers from the Willoughby collection. I inked the kraft paper with Distress Inks (crushed olive and frayed burlap), and then used victorian vines on it with Palette Ink (burnt umber). On the tag I used savvy sayingsspeckle background, and hope perches. The flowers were stamped and layered using medallions and Palette Ink (burnt umber), then colored with Memento (lady bug). I finished it off with machine stitching and these buttons that I inherited from my husband's Grandmother.
