Be Free Butterfly Tag ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I just LOVE color, and wanted to showcase my new Asian Butterfly stamp from Red Rubber Designs, by drawing the eye to the wings with some Distress Ink coloring, and some sparkle with a Wink Of Stella!

The tags were cut with my Cricut Expression, using the good old "George and Basic Shapes" cartridge onto white and black cardstock. Then I covered the smallest black tag with gesso and white paint, before stamping the butterflies and sentiment  ( Distressed Typewriter Bet) with black ink. The circles were masked with Distress Ink (Blueprint Sketch) and Stickles, using the Crafter's Workshop (Well Rounded) stencil. Of course I added some hand stitching, with some bling in the center swirls. Then I finished it up with some layers of punching and some ribbon on top!

Hearts Thank You Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I just heart my new Magical's by Lindy's Stamp Gang! I ordered them on accident, as I thought I was getting the sprays, and almost returned them when they came in the mail, but my curiosity took over, and I decided to give them a try. Now I must have them in all colors! Lol! That's what I was afraid of! Lol! Little magical jars of powder that I'm still learning how to use. But the very first thing I tried, of course, was stamping. With just a little bit of powder mixed with water, I applied them onto some hearts from the I Heart You stamp set from Red Rubber Designs, and just stamped them onto white cardstock that was misted with some blues first. I was really surprised at the intensity of the colors, and had so much fun creating this card!

My design inspiration came from this awesome sketch used for this month's Card Challenge at Scrapbook.com.

I also used my Magicals to stamp the arrow using the Elegant Arrows stamp set. Then I embossed "Thank You", and used Palette Inks for the rest of the sentiment. I was so happy to find that this fiber matched the colors perfectly, so I used it as a border, then added some machine stitching, twine, and a button to finish it up. It was so quick and easy to do!

Happy Birthday Shaker Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I recently made a shaker card for the first time, and immediately went to work on another one for my son's birthday next month. He's going to be 14, so I went with a more grungy look, with a space background on the shaker, using stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

Starting with white cardstock, I applied gesso onto my diamond stencil, and let it dry. Then I sprayed some aqua and my new silver sprays on top, since aqua is my son's favorite color. Using a permanent black ink, I then stamped different phrases with the Be Happiness  stamp, and his birthday using the Mini-Bet stamp, which I also used with teal ink to stamp 14 in random spots.

The circles on the background were embossed with the Background Soup stamp. I also embossed the Lotsa Dotsa stamp, and added some buttons in the centers.

To create the large diamond on the background, I masked some drywall tape with black ink, added some embossing powder, and machine stitched two rows of stitching in metallic silver and teal threads. Then I made the background of the diamond shaker with black cardstock misted with a few sprays to look like outer space. To make the stars I embossed the Speckle Background stamp with silver embossing powder, as well as the sentiment, which was done with the Savvy Sayings stamp. I cut the frame from silver cardstock, where I also did some embossing using the Background Soup stamp, adding some brads in the corners. Behind the frame I added a piece of clear packaging, and attached it to the double sided tape along the background, after filling it with some glitter. So fun!!!

Bo Bunny Love And Lace Valentine's Card ~ FotoBella DT

Is Valentine's on your mind? Bo Bunny's Love And Lace I Want It All Bundle makes it so easy. I made this card for my husband combining the feminine and masculine touches from this beautiful and romantic collection!

Most of the elements on this card were made from the 12 X 12 Collection Pack, including the belt that I made by cutting the leather strip, adding a couple of loops, and popping up the buckle. I also popped up the circle in the middle of the buckle that I got from the Noteworthy pack, adding a red button to it. The red rose on the heart also came from the Noteworthy pack, where I added some hand-stitching in burgundy and white. Then I stamped the floral cluster on top with blue permanent ink onto white cardstock with the Bo Bunny Floral Stamp, adding a smudge of Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks. I finished it up with some dots of Burgundy Stickles on the white lace.

Bo Bunny Love & Lace Layout ~ FotoBella DT

Happy New Year!! I hope you keep all of your resolutions, and have a happy and healthy 2016! Happy and healthy is just one of the reasons why I love this old photo of my late grandparents dancing together and looking so young and vibrant! It was just meant to be scrapped with Bo Bunny's Love & Lace I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella!

I took my design inspiration from this fabulous sketch at Stuck?!Sketches.

I tore and water distressed the edges of the papers in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack, and cut around the curvy lace paper to mimic movement from the photo. Then I hand-stitched the black zigzag in between the rips that I made in the burgundy "Cherish" paper. The black and white lace die that's behind the photo comes in the Noteworthy pack, where I added some black embossed flowers using Bo Bunny's Floral Stamp. The other flowers all come in the Ephemera, and I misted and layered them, inking the edges with Worn Lipstick and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks. The black metal flower and buttons on the smaller flowers also come in the Ephemera, and the other Buttons are chipboard.

For the titlework I did some fussy-cutting and tearing, adding "Always" from the Layered Chipboard.

MME Christmas On Market Street Card And Ornament Exchange ~ FotoBella DT

I hope you had a wonderful and festive holiday, and wishing you happiness and health for the New Year! The FotoBella Design Team recently had a fun exchange to make a card and rosette ornament for one member of the team. Here's what I made and sent to Apryl, using My Mind's Eye Christmas On Market Street I Want It All Bundle!

Cutting a circle from the gold dotted vellum, I adhered it to a white card lightly misted with gold. Around the circle I embossed the stitching with a Prima stamp, and added some chipboard pieces and Paper Tape.

Inside of the card I used some more vellum, chipboard, and Paper Tape with the Journaling Cards, which gave me the perfect spot for writing.

To make the ornament I used white cardstock and punched the snowflake edge, spraying it again with some gold. For the center rosette I used the same gold striped vellum that's inside the card topped with some chipboard, and strung with some gold fiber.

Here's a close-up!

And the back where I added a snowflake from the Mixed Bag with a red Brad in the center!

December Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Since Christmas is my husband's favorite holiday, I decided to combine the colors, along with black, for the birthday card that I made for him!

I was inspired by this sketch from Your Next Stamp, used for the December Card Challenge at Scrapbook.com.

The main image was stamped and embossed in black using the All Things Of Nature stamp from Red Rubber Designs, onto white cardstock colored with some mists and sprays. For the sentiment I used Sophisticated Sentiments. Then I used the Speckle Background stamp over it, embossed in white, for a snowy effect, which I also used along all of my edges. The rest of the papers, and the snowflake transparency are from Little Yellow Bicycle's Once Upon a Christmas line.

I'm also entering this into Sweet Stampin' Challenge for the Snow Time theme. Thanks for your visit!

Train Collage Christmas Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

My mother-in-law just LOVES vintage trains, so of course I had to make her this Christmas card featuring the Train Collage stamp from Red Rubber Designs!

I was inspired by this November Week 1 Sketch at Viva la Verve Sketches!

For the background I blended various Distress Inks onto some white cardstock to give it a vintage look. Then I used Palette Inks (L'Amore Red and Giverney Green) with the Vintage Script stamp, and tore and distressed the edges. I used the same Distress Ink colors on some more white cardstock for the background where I stamped the train with black ink twice, so that I could make a frame with it for this months Stamped and Cut Window Technique at House of Cards. I also cut out the windows in the train and backed it with some yellow glitter paper.

To color the train and leaves, I used Distress Inks again, and a gold pen, with touches of Stickles for some sparkle. After adding the ribbons, I popped up my frame with some Pop Dots. The sentiment was stamped and embossed using the Vintage Christmas stamp.

Robin Hood Layout ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I just love my son's Robin Hood costume from a couple of Halloween's ago, and had a blast scrapping these photos of him, featuring some stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

My design inspiration came from this beautiful sketch no. 62 used for this month's sketch challenge at Scrap Africa. I finished just in time, and was so excited to finally use my wood grain stencil to create the background wood planks, which just screamed out to me from the sketch. I used most of the elements here including the vine and leaves, strip of smaller pics, and the bullseye.

But all of the colors were inspired by this month's Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang!

I love this gorgeous fall color combo, and used it to make the background wood planks, with the Tim Holtz Woodgrain Stencil and some gesso applied to white textured cardstock. After it dried overnight, the fun began with all of these Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays! I also used these for some of the green fibers, the cardstock circles to make the bullseye, the brown felt under the big photo that started out tan, and the stamped frame that I made for the date, which I colored with a paintbrush.

All of the cool metal effects on here came from Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powders! I used Midnight Copper Obsidian and Twilight Bronze Slate to emboss all of the brads, the frame and date, arrows, around the inner circles for the bullseye, and to cover the Thickers that spell "take". I used some more sprays to make the background for the arrows which were stamped and embossed with the Elegant Arrows stamp from Red Rubber Designs.

To make the bullseye I cut come circles using every color from the Lindy's Stamp Gang photo, with my Cricut Expression. Then I distressed the edges, added embossing powder to the inner circles, and Stickles on the outside for some shimmer. I finished it off by hand stitching the black circles in the middle.

For the date I used the Mini Bet stamp, onto black cardstock, framed with the Rose Wine Labels stamp, which I hung with some striped ribbon and a brad.

To make the vine I used some fibers and yarn and twined them together. Then I embossed the leaves with the Place In My Heart stamp using Rangers Topiary Embossing Powder. On about half of the leaves I applied Lime Stickles, for some more sparkle, which just doesn't translate as well in these photos as it does in real life!  Thanks for taking a peek!
