Jumping right into the July BOAF Kit

I've been so honored to be a Chick at BOAF and honestly think that the new July kit is the BEST one yet!! I don't think it's a secret that my favorite papers are by Bo Bunny and actually already bought this line ("Key Lime" collection)  before finding out that it would be part of this kit. So happy to have even more Bo Bunny I jumped right in and came up with this 2 pager based on the sketch and challenge at Scrapbook.com.

These photos were taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California while on vacation in 2010. I really LOVE these alpha stickers from We R memory keepers that I used for my title! The chipboard letters vary in shade, and with the added glitter, gives it even more dimension. I hope you can tell from the photo. If not you'll just have to buy the kit and see for yourself.

I decided to add  my own sparkle to the seaweed that I cut out with my Cricut (Life is a beach cartridge) by adding some Lime Stickles.  I masked some bubbles above the chipboard fish using a hole punch for the small circles, punched from plain masking sheets, and my Distress Inks (peacock feathers and faded jeans). Then  I stamped some texture over it, which is kinda subtle, and splashed some drops of water on top.

The flowers were just made for theses pages even though I made them a long time ago. Unfortunately I don't remember how or where I learned them from, other than inking and crinkling them from white cardstock. I'm so glad I saved them though! I finished it all off with some hand stitching in 3 different colors around all of the photos.

For this next page I also used a photo from the aquarium, this time of my husband. I used the June sketch from the Bo bunny blog and loved it so much I used it for another collection, which you'll see on my blog on July 1st.

I stamped the sun, adding the chipboard circle to the center, and gluing the fiber around it. Perfect title for this page!

I made a bright version of my Seashell Cheesecloth Flowers using the jewels from the kit for my centers instead of the shells. Here's a closer look at the large one behind the chipboard splash which you can buy with the extras.

I water distressed around the torn edges and used my sewing machine to stitch around them. I hand cut the journaling spot from the patterned paper that also comes in the extras.

I'm having so much fun with this kit and can't wait to show you what else I've come up with!

More of the BOAF June Kit

The June Kit at BOAF is still available and filled with lots of happy colors and papers. I knew when I saw the "Gabbie" collection by Anna Griffin that I wanted to create a fun and funky page with it. So here's what I came up with.

I scrapped this photo of my younger cousins, and started by masking the background. I used the extra patterned paper to cut out all of the letters, covering up some to change the title on the bottom from "memories" to "cousins". Here's a close up of the masking.

I also did a lot of stamping on here, and used the plain cardstock that came in the kit to stamp on 3 of the squares. I used a stitching stamp to go around all of the squares that I layered behind the photo. I just LOVE the large blue flower that came in the kit! I also added the rest of my 3D sticker flowers that you can get in the extra embellishment 1.

For this next page I scrapped this photo of me, my brother, and our cousins. We have LOTS of cousins in our familly!! I just wish I didn't live so far from all of them.

This was based on the June Sketch Challenge at BOAF. I just LOVE this sketch!

I started by misting some white cardstock for my circle and used Dear Lizzy paper around it. I used the diecut cards for part of my title and the stickers for the rest, and for the banner pieces, and journaling.

Here's the journaling sticker. I added the blue Prima flowers from my May kit.

The dark blue flower comes in the main kit, and the pink ones can bought with the extras. The buttons are from my own stash.
Thanks so much for looking!!

Happy Father's Day Card

Hello and Happy Father's Day! I just got done spending time with my Dad and wanted to share these cards with you. I made them using my leftovers from the April Kit at BOAF. This first one I made for my Dad and put money in the pocket.
The second one I made for my husband. Of course I had to hand stitch on both of them.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks for stopping by!

A Proper Vintage Gentleman

Hello and happy Tuesday! I just finished this page I made for my Dad, of his Dad with his 1937 Studebaker. I'll be giving it to him this Sunday for Father's Day.

This is also my entry for the Graphic 45 challenge at Scrapbook.com. I used one of their older lines, "A proper gentleman collection", which I've been hoarding ever since it came out. It felt good to finally use some of it!I started by masking the edges with black soot distress ink and my mini gears template from The Crafter's Workshop. I used some sandpaper at an angle to distress the black Core'dination's cardstock.

I did a lot of fussy cutting on this page, including the key, which was stamped and embossed first.

I love this chipboard vintage car, which I got as a RAK from Funtoolas! Thanks Cindy! I inked it first and then used distress embossing powder on it. I  used a clear transparency, which I inked with butterscotch alcohol ink, to make the windows. I made the red flower using my Tattered and Torn Flower Tutorial.

The wood tag was also a RAK that I got a long time ago from (puppet). Thanks Krista! I used antique linen reinker to distress it, along with a touch of black soot Distress Ink. And I can't forget Anna for giving me some awesome stamps, one of which I used for the photo corner. I embossed it using aged mahogany Distress Embossing Powder. So thank you Anna!!
And thank YOU for stopping by!

BOAF June Kit Reveal

I just couldn't resist scrapping this darling photo of Gracie, my friend's daughter, to showcase the bold, bright colors and papers in the Birds of a Feather June Kit!
The papers are Anna Griffin "Gabbie" collection. The floral diecut and 3D flower stickers are extras that you can purchase here.

I used Distress Ink (picked raspberry) behind the smile sticker which is from Jillibean Soup and part of the main kit.

For this next page I scrapped these photos of me and my son when he was just 2 months old. He's 11 now and I sure do miss holding him in my arms!

I was inspired by the second sketch from the top of this January Page Maps. I used Dear Lizzy papers "Lucky charm" collection, and the stripes in the background are available in the extra patterned papers. It reminded me of a big beach towel and the colors go perfectly with the pool in the background. The skinnier striped paper is part of the main kit, and I used it to back the diecut card that I used for my title. The big rick rack was leftover from the April kit.

I stamped the stars which I cut out with my Cricut. The little envelopes were cut from the other side of the big striped paper. I added my own buttons and hand stitched around the circle.
