Oh Christmas Tree Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

I hope you had a wonderful holiday!! Here's the Christmas card that I made for my parents using stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

This is also my entry for the December Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com using Bonus Sketch #6.

I used the Amelia papers from Red Rubber Designs with gold embossing powder on the edges, and to stamp the tree using Cheery Christmas, and the stars with Build-A-Background. I just LOVE the tree stamp and colored it with some Prismacolor markers and added some Stickles to the ornaments and angel on top. I also used a few dots of Stickles on the green paper on the bottom.

Thanks for looking!

Bo Bunny Altitude "Skiing In Canada" LO ~ FotoBella DT

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you're having a wonderful day with family and friends! When you get a moment, be sure to check out FotoBella for their after Christmas sale which starts today. For all of your winter projects you'll love Bo Bunny's Altitude I Want It All Bundle! Even though I'm not a skier, I scrapped this beautiful photo of my sister on the slopes, to showcase some of the ski goodies that come in the bundle.

I took my inspiration from this awesome sketch used for Bo Bunny's December Sketch Challenge!

I started with some blue cardstock for my background to bring out some of the blues in the photo. The punched snowflake border and edges of my papers, were painted with white, along with the title which was done using the Tim Holtz Cargo Alphabet Stencil. I also painted the large chipboard snowflake, which came from my own stash, along with the flower, which I colored with Pebbles Inc. chalk. I stamped all of the stitched circles, and added the Layered Chipboard snowflakes. Then I used the ski lift circle embellie that comes in the Noteworthy pack, over the Film Sticker. To finish it off, I added a couple of Buttons with some fiber through them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Inspirational #151 ~ Merry Christmas Card

Even though Christmas is right around the corner, there's still time to make some last minute cards, like the one I made here for Inspirational #151. I'm hosting this week at Red Rubber Inspirationals with the stamping theme "Christmas Cheer", and would love to see your projects!

I started this card by blending some Distress Inks (Broken China, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac) onto some white cardstock, flicking an old toothbrush with water onto it. Then I used some white embossing powder to create snow with the Speckle Background stamp. After cutting 2" strips I embossed the edges to look like snowy windows. The trees were stamped with Palette Inks (Jardin Moss and Burnt Umber) using the Oh Christmas Tree stamp, and then embossed with white again, to create snowy trees. I also used white embossing powder to the hills, which I hand cut, along with the sentiment and snowflakes using Vintage Christmas, all from Red Rubber Designs, which carries a wonderful selection of Christmas stamps at great prices.

This is my entry for Sketch #5 used in the December Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

Thanks for your visit, and have a wonderful holiday!!

Merry Christmas Card ~ Inspirational # 150

Happy Holidays! Inspirational #150, hosted by Lynda this week, is all about your sparkly holiday greetings, for which I made this Christmas card.

The Amelia patterned paper from Red Rubber Designs was the perfect choice for sketch #1 used for the December Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I started by stamping and embossing the gold script on the red background using Vintage Script, and covering it with some red Stickles. Then I created a banner out of the tags from the paper pack, stringing them through some red tinsel. The green tag was stamped using Holly Swirls. Then I used my gold embossing powder again to stamp Merry Christmas over the tags, and to stamp the zigzag stitching with Running Stitches. I finished it off with more Stickles over the poinsettia and leaf, adding some bling in the middle. We'd love to see your sparkly holiday creations at Red Rubber Inspirationals! Enjoy the season!

Bo Bunny Altitude "Icicles" Layout ~ FotoBella DT

The new Bo Bunny Altitude I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella is SO gorgeous, packed full of goodies and fabulous colors, for all of your winter projects!!! I scrapped this photo of my house when I lived in Truckee, CA, with icicles so big they hit the ground.

The beautiful chevron paper (Cold Snap), which I got from the Collection Pack, was my starting point, as it brought to mind a warm, cozy quilt. Then I pulled out my Ephemera pack, and used the book page with an image of a house on it, tearing around the edges, along with some of the script, and glued it to my page. I applied a light coat of gesso over it, and misted it with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays (Witch's Potion Purple, Afternoon Delight Denim, and Delphinium Turquoise). After it dried, I used a stencil to mask the dots with some more gesso. Along the left side of my photo, I used a Martha Stewart stamp to emboss the lacy scallops in silver.

I hand-stitched the large circle with three different colors of embroidery thread, using silver metallic thread to tie them all together, using my Twisted Stitching. The banner was made from the stickers in the Collection Pack, and backed with distressed, white cardstock. I spelled out ICICLES using another sticker set that comes in the Ephemera pack, along with the blue fringe trim, which I used under the banner. The buttons and silver snowflake are also included in the Ephemera pack, as well as the navy and purple papers that I used to mat my photo. All of the KaiserCraft flowers came from my own stash, which I misted, scrunched, and dipped into gesso.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Hon! ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Happy Birthday to my handsome husband, and love of my life!! Here's the card that I made for him, using stamps from Red Rubber Designs.

I got my inspiration from sketch #3  used for the December Card Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I was also inspired by last weeks Inspirational # 148: Frame It! I stamped Designer Diamonds onto white cardstock with black ink, and cut the middle part out to create a frame. On the inner corners I stamped and embossed Corner Cuts, using Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder (Midnight Pewter Obsidian), which I also used for the birthday sentiment using Sophisticated Sentiments. The background strips were stamped using Well Defined Backgrounds. I finished it off by spraying some mists onto the white background.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Basic Grey Highline Layout ~ FotoBella DT

I'm back with another layout I made using Basic Grey's Highline I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella. I thought the colors and patterns were perfect for an 80's page, so I scrapped these old photos of myself at sixteen, posing in my front yard in my new outfit. Look at my crimped hair! Lol!!

The Frames With Acetate Overlays were just the right size for my photos, and since some of them were a little blurry, it also helps distract from any imperfections. I made the tag by placing my photo in between the frame and some paper that I used from the 12 x 12 Collection Pack. Then I punched a hole on top and tied it off with some black fiber.

For the photo frame under the tag, I used the Die Cuts and Transparencies, and applied them with Ranger Glossy Accents. I used a black Sharpie to write in the bubble. I also used Vellum Tape on here and on the other pink frame.

I used every color on the Alpha Sticker sheet to spell out different words and phrases from the Valley Girl song. The title was masked using Black Soot Distress Ink and the Cargo Alphabet Stencil by Tim Holtz. The awesome tag comes in the Mixed Brads, and I anchored it with a piece from the Printed Chipboard Shapes, which I also used for the arrows going down. I finished the page off by hand-stitching the border.
