The mysterious and magical moon was my inspiration for this journal cover! In this time of sorrow and uncertainty, it's nice to know she's still there.
I started with a coat of black gesso applied to the front, side, and back of the journal, with more added through a couple of stencils (The Crafter's Workshop ~ Well-Rounded and Prima Marketing ~ Salvage District). Then I painted it with Art Alchemy Metallique Paints (Midnight Sky and Royal Blue), and gave it some splatters of (Silver Spoon) and Sparks (Dragon's Eye). The back shows this process without the stencil work. I'm SO in love with (Midnight Sky) and highly recommend it, if you don't already have it!
I just used my fingers to apply Finnabair Metallique Waxes (Old Silver and Vintage Gold) to the edges and stenciled front and side. The stars and moons are made from paper clay using the Finnabair Mould (Stars and Moons). The moons were given a coat of white gesso and painted with Art Alchemy Metallique Paints (Silver Spoon and White Pearl). More texture was given to the crescent moon with Prima Texture Paste (Platinum Crackle), and both phases finished off with the same waxes.
The stars also got a coat of white gesso, along with a couple of coats of Art Alchemy Sparks (Dragon's Eye) Paints, and some touches of Finnabair Wax (Old Silver).
Blue rhinestones gave some sparkle to some of the stars and moon eyes.
I finished it up with a strand of gold elastic along the spine.
Thanks so much for your visit, and please stay safe!
