Poinsettia Birthday Card ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I have an embossed card for those upcoming December Birthdays, that could easily become a holiday card by simply changing the sentiment with some featured Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

A birthday sentiment and holiday greeting, along with some other basic sentiments, can all be found with the Sophisticated Sentiments Unmounted Rubber Stamp.

To create the festive red background, I applied many layers of Candied Apple Distress Ink with water onto white cardstock, waiting for each layer to dry before adding the next. Then I used white embossing powder on the Poinsettia, and rest of the stamping.

I love the border around the edges, created with the Background Soup Unmounted Rubber Stamp!

Thanks for looking, and shop Red Rubber Designs for a great selection of Winter & Christmas Cling Mounted Stamps, as well as Christmas Unmounted Rubber Stamps!

Cyber Monday Mixed Media Page ~ FotoBella DT

Cyber Monday is finally here, which means deals and sales are to be found everywhere online today, including at FotoBella.com! So I created another page in my art journal to mark the occasion, using some mixed media for the FotoBella Design Team.

There's lots of layers on the background, starting with some torn book pages that I gathered from some of my Bo Bunny Ephemera Packages. Over that I applied a coat of Prima Marketing's Heavy White Gesso, letting it dry, before adding some background stamping using Prima's Salvage District Clock Stamp with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink. Then I applied Prima Marketing's Black Gesso to the Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil with one of my Bo Bunny Palette Knives. I used some large alpha stencils with white gesso to spell SALE, and then sprayed my page with Candied Apple Distress Spray Stain. Then I masked "Cyber Monday" with White Linen Dylusions Paint, and used Brushed Pewter Distress Spray Stain with my fingers to rub over some of the dots. To deepen the red of the title, I used a paintbrush to apply another coat of the Candied Apple Distress Spray Stain.

I used a punch to make the tags, stamping SALE with Candied Apple Distress Ink, and inking the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. I also used the Candied Apple Distress Ink to highlight today's date on the mini calendar that I printed out for November, and to stamp more texture with Bo Bunny's Rough It Up Stamp.

To make the FotoBella girl, I simply traced her from one of my Clear Storage Boxes for Bundles, and used those pieces with some cardstock to piece her back together. Again I used Candied Apple Distress Ink to make her shirt, adding some dimension to her earring and bracelets with White Opal Liquid Pearls.

I hope I've inspired you today to not only scrap, but to shop for all of those deals, especially at FotoBella.com!

Button Day Cards ~ FotoBella DT

Happy National Button Day! I can't believe another year has already gone by since my post here celebrating one of my favorite embellishments! I got into my late grandma's stash to create a couple of cards using some of my older Bundles from FotoBella. Pinterest is always full of great ideas, and inspired this cute, little, snowman family.

The background was done with Hickory Smoke, Pumice Stone, and Weathered Wood Distress Inks spritzed with some water. Then I used an old toothbrush to apply snow using White Linen Dylusions Paint. The actual snow texture, which I absolutely LOVE, was done with Prima Marketing's Snowflake Paste, used on the hills and the tree sticker applied with Bo Bunny's Palette Knife!

The snowmen were made with three buttons, knotted at the eyes, with scraps of ribbon for the scarves. Then I cut the hats from black cardstock, coating them with Black Diamond Stickles, also used on the edges of the sentiment.

This other card was made for my nephew, and again uses up some older Bundles, including Bo Bunny's Pop Quiz Papers with Black Soot Distress Ink applied to the edges.

After printing the bus onto white cardstock, I applied Glossy Accents to the windows, and Orange Peel Stickles to the lights. Black buttons make perfect wheels, atop the embossed music notes stamped with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink

Bo Bunny Bundles and Ephemera Packs almost always have buttons in them, including chipboard ones. Don't be afraid to mix up different collections like I did on this banner strung together with some twine.

You can never have enough Buttons, so shop FotoBella.com to add to your collection!

Magical Manor ~ FotoBella DT

Happy Halloween!! Today I have an art journal spread done for the FotoBella DT using mixed media on a painted background of Dylusions Paints from FotoBella.com.

With my fingers and some water, I applied Tangerine Dream, Squeezed Orange, and Funky Fuchsia to the page on the right, pressing the one on the left onto it to reveal it's mirror sky image.

Then I used my Mini Blending Tool with a circle stencil to make the setting sun, with Pure Sunshine Dylusions Paint. The witch, like most of the other stamping, was done with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink, and embossed with Ranger's Rainbow Sparkle Embossing Powder using Graphic 45's An Eerie Tale Stamp. The broom was made from a scrap of paper, rolled up, and glued to some rope fibers.

The trees were made with my Cricut Expression cut from black cardstock that I coated with Black Diamond Stickles. Then I used an older Prima stamp to emboss the fence, adding grass along the bottom with some fibers.

Instead of a haunted house, I made a "Magical Manor" embossing the stamping with Ranger's Copper Embossing Powder, and using up some old alpha stickers to spell MANOR.

Most of the manor pieces were stamped with Prima Marketing's Old Town Stamp, and colored with Distress Ink Spray Stains. The roof was done with Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch Sprays, while the wood was colored with Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke, Vintage Photo, and Walnut Stain Distress Spray Stains. Then I added Purple Stickles to the skull, embossed again with copper using an old stamp.

The walls were coated with Prima Marketing's Heavy White Gesso before coloring with sprays. Then I finished the edges with Wilted Violet Distress Ink and Bo Bunny's Stitches Stamp.

Watch out for the ghosts that I hid inside some of the windows, stamped with Picket Fence Distress Ink!

Happy Halloween from all of us at FotoBella

Bo Bunny Serendipity 2 Pager ~ FotoBella DT

Happy Thursday! Today I have a 2 pager to share with you using Bo Bunny's Serendipity Collection from FotoBella.com.

These beautiful photos of my sister and nephew were taken by my talented cousin, photographybyreginamarie.com. I was inspired by the quote and colors, based on the October 2 Page Sketch Challenge @ Scrapbook.com.

I fussy-cut one of the photos, so I could place them in front of the door, (inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink) cut from a sheet a paper found in the Ephemera.

For some sparkle, I applied Bo Bunny's Wasabi Glitter Paste to the green flower, (found in the Ephemera), and along the punched border. Then I added the circle Chipboard piece to the center.

Before attaching the punched border, I used it as a stencil over the dark blue paper with Glitter Paste, to shine with the Bo Bunny Double Dot Blue Hues Flourish Jewels.

The wooden shutters were cut from the same sheet of paper that I cut the door from, and inked along the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Then I creased the centers, using them to frame the large 8 X 10 photo.

Always getting so much in the Ephemera, were these green laces. I love how they look with the distressed edges, (made easy with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser) and the machine stitching!

Thanks for looking, and shop for everything Bo Bunny at FotoBella.com!

Beautiful Berries ~ Red Rubber Designs DT

Hello, and welcome to my blog! With some mixed media and stamps from Red Rubber Designs, I created this tag and layout, and used up a lot of my old embellishments and stickers in the process.

The design was inspired by this fabulous sketch at Stucksketches.

The color combo came from the October Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I started the background by stamping the grid from the Vintage Background Stamp with permanent black ink. Then I covered it with white gesso, and colored it with Lindy's Sprays (Cathedral Pines Green , Sea Mint Green, and Hag's Wart Orange)and Magicals (Drop Dead Gorgeous Green and Tears on my Pillow Tangerine). To mimic berries, I stamped the dots with the Build-A-Background Stamp using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink.

Along the right I placed some green cardstock with some more of the Lindy's green sprays, adding gesso to the lattice stencil. The flowers and leaves were stamped onto white cardstock with the Dotty Flowers Stamp, using Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. Then I used up some old product with the Enamel Dots and the scallop border.

After coating an old kraft tag with white gesso, I added a strip of gingham stamped with Abandoned Coral and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks using the Gingham Background Stamp. Then I hand-stitched the top, and placed the photo below it, framed with some fibers.

Because the round alpha stickers yellowed with age, I stuck them onto white cardstock colored with the same LSG Sprays and Magicals that I used on the background, and cut around them.

Such a fun page to make! Thanks for looking!

World Card Making Day ~ FotoBella DT

Today is World Card Making Day, so I joined the FotoBella Design Team in making a card for the occasion using Bo Bunny's Serendipity Ephemera from FotoBella.com. The rest of the team did a wonderful job using different products, and their cards can be seen here

I'm such a fan of Bo Bunny's Ephemera packs! They're always packed full of embellishments and papers that are perfect for card making! Like the clocks, all fussy-cut from the papers in the Serendipity Ephemera, and embossed along the edges with Ranger's Silver and Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powders. I popped a couple of them up, adding brads from the pack to the centers of some of the clocks.

To the cream background paper, also from the Ephemera, I added some Weathered Wood and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks with some water to create some texture. Then I used Prima Marketing's Salvage District Clock Stencil with my Mini Blending Tool to apply Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso Distress Inks.

I used my old Ranger Alpha Mask with Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo Distress Inks on one of the clocks to mask "46"years of marriage for my parents. Then I added some sparkle to the flower below it, with Silver Stickles.

The sentiment was embossed with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder. Then I used fibers from my own stash to the Chipboard Clock Button, also found in the Ephemera. Finally, I distressed the paper edges with Tim Holtz' Paper Distresser,  and finished them off with machine stitching.

Thanks for looking, and Happy World Card Making Day from all of us at FotoBella
