If the Crown Fits

By mixing the old with the new, specifically the new Emerald Creek embossing powders that Santa brought me, I was able to create this art journal page!

I started by adhering some torn strips from old sheet music, and stamping the script with an older Prima stamp. Then I applied a coat of clear gesso, followed by a light coat of white gesso, and some watered down Dylusions Paints (Vanilla Custard and Laidback Lilac). To mimic vintage wallpaper, I used the Tim Holtz (Gothic) Stencil with my new EC Rock Candy (Java Plum) Embossing Powder, which totally rocks! Lol!

I also tried a new technique with the doily! After applying white gesso onto black cardstock using a doily stencil, I immediately poured EC Rock Candy Embossing Powders (Java Plum and Butterscotch) and heat set it. Normally I would wait for the gesso to dry, and reapply the stencil with clear embossing ink before adding the powders. I really like the coverage I got by covering the wet gesso, but still had to wait for it to dry to properly emboss. But well worth the wait for the fabulous texture of the Rock Candy powders!

Other than the script in the background, the rest of the stamping was done with the Graphic 45 (Gilded Lily 1 & 2) Stamps. The queen and chandelier were embossed with my new Emerald Creek Boho Blends (Wrought Iron) EP, and the queen painted with Dylusions Paints (Vanilla Custard and Laidback Lilac). I finished her up with a small Prima Marketing rose, and some lace peeking out from her dress.

The same Dylusions Paints were also used on the Petaloo DIY Burlap Flowers with a vintage button in the center.

The Bo Bunny Lasercut Chipboard Tag and metal fleur de lis was covered with white gesso, and embossed with Emerald Creek Rock Candy (Java Plum and Butterscotch) Embossing Powders, in addition to Mirror Gold, which has been in my stash for awhile now.

Mirror Gold EP was also used on the key, made from paper clay with the Finnabair Key Mould, and coated with black gesso.

And on the crown, with the phrase being embossed with EC Aroma (Black Cherry) EP.

The teardrop rhinestones were perfect for the chandelier!

Thanks for your visit!
