I'm still fairly new at postcard art, but really love working with the 6" X 4" size! It's perfect for trying new techniques or products, like the Metallic Distress Crayons I tried out here.
The first step was stamping the checkers and script with some Clear Finnabair Stamps using (Jet Black) Archival Ink. Then I fussy cut all of the images from a sheet of Bo Bunny (Land of Wonder).
All of the images, a strip of washi tape, and torn pieces of white cardstock were adhered and coated with Ranger Multi Medium Gloss. Then I colored the background with Distress Crayons (Barn Door, Festive Berries, Antique Linen, Seedless Preserves, and Peacock Feathers). Imagining a broken cup, I colored the torn pieces with Black Soot, and rubbed the edges with (Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass) Metallic Distress Crayons. Wanting to bring those pieces out more, I outlined them with (Brushed Pewter and Antiqued Bronze) Distress Spray Stains and splattered some onto the background.
The pearls are from a couple of sets of Bo Bunny Jewels, but can't remember where I got the metal gears.
All I did to the gears were light touches of (Brushed Pewter) Metallic Distress Crayon, which was SO fast and easy, and looks awesome!
